I was coming home from work and my TPMS sent me a message that i had a low tire (left rear) it was down from the usual 42 to 21 psi and dropping,m
I pulled in to a Lil tire shop right around the corner. Dude comes out and can see my tire going down and rolls a jack under the truck , he is starting to pump up the jack and his buddy is busting lug nuts loose, i stopped him and told about being an electric truck and that was a battery he was fixing to crush.
Anyways after a few minutes and a you tube video he understood and joked about how much that would have cost his shop............. so i made some jack point decals out of some reflective vinyl and installed... That little arrow on the frame is kinda hard to see if you don't know what your looking for.

I like that. I do my tire rotations at home. The floor jack marks up the frame, so I put a hockey puck on it before I start lifting the truck.
I had a friend who worked for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He got me Yovi (?) pucks that are orange practice pucks heavier and denser than game pucks. They are about 15 years old and still holding shape.

When I had to use the jack, I spent a good 5-10 minutes checking the manual on the screen. I admit, I only looked at the pictures to figure out where I needed to place the jack.

Thanks for the reminder, I have wanted to go through the procedure of pulling out the OEM jack, setting it up, Using my oversized forged 4way to bust the nuts loose, & Jacking, just to be familiar with the setup, Would hate to have to do that at night w/o a lil practice. Then having to stow the jack the same way it came out..

Then having to stow the jack the same way it came out..
I wish I had. By the time I got the tire swapped with the spare in 90F temps, I just tossed the jack in the bed and dealt with it later. It took a lot of trial and error to figure out how to pack it all back up. I recommend tossing in a pair of gloves with the jack. I got some nasty blisters cranking that thing up.

Great plan. It always amazes me how many people don't know how to lower the spare, get the jack out, etc.

HOWEVER, note that the scissor jack is woefully undersized, and threatens to buckle the entire time you're using it. I wouldn't trust it except in an emergency, after I called Ford Roadside and they said 4 hours. I used to laugh at people that carried jacks with them, not any more. I take a bottle jack on long trips.

Ya, I learned long ago, Hence the oversized forged 4way, also have mechanic gloves and a Tyvec suit. Can never tell what I would be wearing . . .or the environment I stop.

Hum, a bottle jack . .. . that would really make me leery. Maybe a small roll away with a lil cribbing stashed in the frunk...
