The rotary shifter is far higher quality. Almost completely without any sound so no clunks and wiggles like the stick shifter and you get your entire workspace whenever you want. I got two just in case it crapped out, but I don’t think it ever will. You can get a 3-D printed enclosure for like 40 bucks and then 30 bucks or so for the rotary shifter and do it yourself. Never look backDropped my truck off at the dealer yesterday and they said the shifter was on back order. How long have people been having to wait for their faulty lightning shifters to be replaced at the dealer?
Considering having it towed back to my house and installing the rotary shifter myself (even though I prefer the feel of the stock shifter).
Will the knobs work with the 2025 Lightning? The rotary shifter is far higher quality. I noticed some have an L in the center and others have an M; what’s the difference between the functions?110% they work

And you’ve had no issues with auto hold or anything else? There are quite a few that seem to have issues with the Mach-e shifter. I just bought a new shifter for the escape as many have said it does not throw any codes or issues.I used this part number : LJ9Z7P155D
This one is for the Mach E.
Cost me $191 for the shifter plus 200 to install.
my understanding is L is for low (effects ICE vehicles) M is for manual mode (maybe had paddle shifters) when you hold it in the lightning though it goes into neutral mode, same as the N clock button on stock shifter. Vehicle itself decides what to do with that signal. So feel free to pick the letter you prefer moreI noticed some have an L in the center and others have an M; what’s the difference between the functions?
Ok so they’re virtually the same shifter for the most part. Just wanting to be sure it works on a 2025 before I order the parts.my understanding is L is for low (effects ICE vehicles) M is for manual mode (maybe had paddle shifters) when you hold it in the lightning though it goes into neutral mode, same as the N clock button on stock shifter. Thanks brother. Appreciate ityep. Same.
So ANY of the rotary knobs off a Bronco or MachE or Explorer will work?yep. Same.
from my understanding the electronics will work as long as it’s 2022 or newer. But as for will it fit to your specific tub and where the harness connector is in relation to the tub, that may change. I don’t know if you have access to a 3D printer or are planning to order an already printed tub, but you may want to check with the instructions on the tub for which one they used. I customized my CAD file for what I wanted and printed it myself (which I’m happy to share.)So ANY of the rotary knobs off a Bronco or MachE or Explorer will work?
it’s worth noting that I went off spec for the 3D print as I have that skill set. In the attached pictures you’ll see the knob I ordered, and how I designed the tub to hold the knob. I then printed a cover which goes over top of the knob. The knob and the cover are friction fit in my design.
