'Sounds' from the otherwise 'quiet' LIGHTNING...

all EVs have some sort of built-in, sometimes customizable, 'sounds' that the vehicle makes at low speeds, and when backing, for pedestrians to 'know' that you are moving....cause, after all, the truck otherwise will make NO 'noise', other than the gravel or pavement underneath the tires....

have we heard ANYTHING to allude to the 'sounds' that the truck makes? I've not seen any videos where someone is there to capture anything while the truck is moving slowly, or backing...


by the way, my Leaf makes that infamous 'jetson's' sound at low speed, and a more annoying 'beeping' sound when backing.

Most likely similar to the Mach E. It has a back up beep as well as a slow speed "humming" sound for bed warning. You have to listen carefully inside the car to hear either, radio off or turned low helps.

I had mine several months before I knew it had the back up beep.

To be fair there's a ton of Telsas (mine included) that don't have those sounds. They weren't required to add them until sometime late 2019 I believe.

My 2018 Honda Clarity PHEV has a hum that sounds like a zen religious chanting group would hum with...

I like the hum that sounds when driving slowly on EV.

OTOH there are Clarity forum threads that show how you can cut out the speaker that is under the hood...

The only vehicle I've witnessed that has an annoying sound coming from it is the Kia Niro, it's reverse beep is way too loud.

our LEAF is not annoying, for the backup beep anyway, but I just hadn't heard any feedback from any drivers, passengers, or videographers about what they may be 'hearing' from the Lightning, if anything - silence is just perfect for me, but I have a feeling that there are actually rules that EV manufacturers have to build-in to provide pedestrians 'notification' that the vehicle is moving...

my LEAF also has the 'jetson's' sound, in Drive, from the moment you start moving, up until about 16mph...
