I do wish ford would come out with a software update for my 2022 so I didn't have to run my truck to use the Pro power and not have to turn off the auto 30 minute shutdown.

What year is your Lightning? When I turn on ProPower, I get a message that the shutdown timer is disabled.
And having to leave the truck on isn’t a big deal for me. Turn off the headlights and HVAC & move on.

Mine is a 2022. I haven’t tried to power my home for awhile but I'd have to start my truck , to get the screen to appear then start Pro power then go to vehicle and turn off the shutdown timer.

Mine was like that originally, but after an update, turning on the bed receptacles now automatically disables the shutdown timer.

Agree with the comments about using the bed 240V 30A outlet (Pro Power On Board) and a $400 manual transfer switch Like the GENERAC 6853 or equivalent (will switch the neutral and hots).

I think I spent maybe $600 total including a 100ft 30A generator cord and inlet boxes, a bit of wire, and some more breakers for the GENERAC.

I already had a 10 circuit transfer switch (non-neutral switching) set up for my un-bonded generator, so I wired the GENERAC in a series-ish way so I didn't have to unwire/unmount the old transfer switch (simplified block diagram - continuous ground truck to panel per code).

Powers 10 "emergency" circuits, e.g., gas furnace fan, refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave, computer, lights and TV/Internet.

Fully tested, but haven't needed it yet - no power outages of any duration this year here - maybe an ice storm will come this winter?

This thread is not about emergency backup power or how to do that best. It is about buying and selling based on Time of use rates to derive an income by using your EV battery.
The Ford HIS and Sigenergy systems are capable of this (as well as providing emergency power) and are fair to compare. Manual transfer switches with small critical load panels are not relevant to the topic.

I'll have to check that out. I do wish they would just let me start Pro power without starting the truck. I guess the new ones don't require you to start the truck to run pro power.

Correct. But (there’s always a “but”) if the truck‘s not on, PPO will shutoff in 5 minutes if the load is less than 90 watts.
