lol...this thread jinxed me...got a low pressure warning on my left rear tire this morning (noticed a potential slow leak yesterday via TPMS differences), going in to get it repaired today. Hoping to NOT replace yet...
Had the same issue as others mentioned with the Hankooks - very bad tire wear along the outside of the tire. But yeah they were smooth!

Now I make sure to rotate the new tires every 10k. I will have to check what I put on them this time, I can’t remember other than they weren’t the Hankooks!

Got me too. My right rear has a slow leak in it now. I caught it before my pressure light came on.

Tire center said they couldn't repair (nail puncture) due to the shoulder wear. Hence I'm looking at buying new tires. Oh well...considering what I haven't spent on maintenance and gas for this truck so far, I'm still coming out ahead... :D

Like doctors opinions, it’s been worth it for me to go to a second tire shop , non chain type. Not promoting un-safe repairs keep in mind, it’s discretionary often times. I’ve found out personally if it works safely based on an experts opinion it works for me. Some shops are more about selling you tires even though the repair, a patch/plug combo fix is sometimes completely within margins. I’ve had 3 repairs already in under 11,000 miles. Screws and nails.

I have just over 5K miles on my factory Goodyear tires that all look damn near brand new. However the right front tire went BOOM on the freeway on the way to work this morning. Did not hit anything as far as I know. Sidewall split from the bead to the edge of the tread. No warning, just BOOM and an obvious flat time. Last I checked (2 days ago) all four tires were at 42 PSI cold. And yes, the truck almost immediately notified me that "The tire pressure monitoring system as detected one or more tires are significantly under-inflated" via FordPass and a slightly shorter message on screen.

The good news was that there was no loss of control, and I was able to sort of get out of the traffic lane. I was in the carpool lane and traffic was 65 - 70 mph so I knew I could not get across five lanes of traffic. So pulled left into the center shoulder. The bad news was that was not as wide as the truck, so I was a good foot or so into the 70 mph traffic lane. Immediately called AAA Roadside service, and they said they would notify police for traffic protection. Right after I got off the phone with them a Calif. Highway Patrol pickup did a traffic break and directed me to pull over to the right shoulder and then the 100 yards to the gore point of an offramp. Shortly thereafter, the Freeway Service Patrol pulled up and they changed the tire for me - his floor jack and power tools were FAR faster than what came with the truck!

On quick inspection, there was no damage to the wheel well, and even the wheel looks undamaged. The tread on the tire still looks perfect, just the 4 inch long gaping hole in the sidewall. I will post a photo later today.

We'll see what my dealer has to say about it...

My truck came with General Grabbers. I got 57k miles out them. I was very pleased as I wanted to get at least 50k out of them. I went with my ā€œgo toā€ tire: Michelin Defenders. I’ve noticed I’m getting .1-.2 kWh better mileage than with the grabbers.

Here's an update on my tire failure yesterday. Upon closer inspection, it was pretty obvious that something hit the sidewall causing the failure. Since it hit the sidewall, and I did not see anything in the lane ahead of me, the assumption is that something skittered across the roadway and my right front tire just happened to be in the way. Bad luck for me. Could have been far worse if it caused a loss of control or had the tire come apart and damaged something else in the wheel well.

Mine came with Goodyear Wranglers and I'm over the 20k mark and they still look new. Rotated at 16k. I think they'll make 60 no problem. I drive pretty chill.

2023 Lariat ER. Purchased new in Jan 2023 and it came with the all season 20 inch General Grabber. I was able to get just over 80000Kms (50000 miles). We replaced them in March of 2025 The GG wore pretty evenly, we rotated pretty religiously. I replaced them with All Weather Yokohama GEOLANDAR CV 4S G061. So far have been happy, but will see how they do in winter.
