Look around and tell me that there are vehicles on the road that are so clearly jacked up that they're not going to die on the spot at any given moment.
Exactly, there are cars that you wouldn’t be surprised that they brake down on the side of the road anytime now. My brother has an old car that has had so much work done, he can’t be surprised if he ends up on side of road. I don’t expect a 13k mile truck to breakdown.

What ever happened to high tech?
The wiggle test is as old as time itself, well at least since we've been building cars/trucks. Connectors are the single biggest failure point on most vehicles which unfortunately are required for assembly. High tech is a lot of low tech wrapped together in one package and shrunk down for less weight and space requirements.

One of the very 1st things the shop manual has one check for during diagnostics is connector pins, are they pushed back in the shell, are they corroded, ice/water intrusion, are they making intermittent contact, wiggle test is the quickest way to pinpoint problem circuits/connections.

The wiggle test is as old as time itself, well at least since we've been building cars/trucks. Connectors are the single biggest failure point on most vehicles which unfortunately are required for assembly. Ya, I had to get my 96' ranger smoged a few years back, took it in guy hooked it up to the smog computer ran the program, came back and said the computer had no History, and to take it for a 100mi drive under varying condition, bring it back and he's finish. Kept it for a week, running it on the freeway and around town. Took it back. he hooked it up to the computer and said it still had no history (pretty sad right about now) took it to my mechanic, don't remember how long it took, but the electrical connection to the computer was making and breaking, erasing any history that had been stored. Remade the connection, and was good to go after another 100mi.

I have owned an F150 Lightning for over two years. I have loved driving the truck and wouldn’t want to drive anything else as a daily driver. About 8 months ago I decided to trade my 23 to a 24. The main reason was 0% APR and the 23 didn’t have PaaK since the Bluetooth connection never worked. Took it to several dealerships and they weren’t able to repair, but not a big deal. The truck change was very minimal and only when towing did I notice a slight difference.

A couple weeks ago I was driving back from a concert with my wife and the Lightning told me to pull over immediately and my power was drained. My charge was at 88% and I was confused on what was happening. I got several service alert including pedestrian sound notification wasn’t working. After a few minutes I was able to turn the truck back on and drive it for a few minutes but then it would give out. After doing this a few times over an hour, I was able to get to our hotel which I was only a few miles away. In the morning I drove it over to a dealership that was less than a mile away with no issues.

The dealership has worked on my truck and has detected there a several electrical issues and they are reaching out to Ford techs for help on this issue. This is the same response I got from the PaaK issue on my 23 Lightning, and no resolution was determined by Ford techs.

My question is has anyone else experienced this same issue? Did you get your truck back and how long was it in the shop for?

I feel that I am screwed and won’t get my truck back. I am frustrated with how Ford is handling this and not being able to get a loaner is annoying. I am sad because I really loved driving my truck even when everyone around me makes fun of my electric vehicle and tells me to switch to an ICE truck. It just sucks that I defend my truck and it has let me down like this and a few other times I haven’t mentioned.
Whoa! This is very concerning. The scary part is that Ford will not provide a rental at no cost to the owner.

I had a similar (not same) issue and it was the 12V battery. They replaced the 12V battery and the weird electrical issues went away!

That exact same thing happened to me. my truck. It was in the shop for a week. They had to remove my batteries, including the hi voltage batteries. They replaced a few sensors. I’ve had my truck in the shop 14 times for Power train / 4 wheel drive failure. I told ford I wanted a different truck. It took about two weeks for Ford corporation to approve the buyback. I had more hoops jump through so I’m waiting for them to give me figure. Will update when I get an answer.

Ah man. I am so sorry about that! I understand your frustration. Have they reached out to Ford Techs yet? It was a bit similar for me, after a week the truck was just there with no update at all. They finally told me they were reaching out to Ford Techs and they would get back to me. After a couple business days, they were able to figure out what was wrong with my truck. For me, I was still able to turn it on after a bit and drive for a bit before the warnings came on and power output gradually went to 0.

My advice is not to wait on the "Ford Company" guy who responded to your post to help much. I got contacted by a similar person about a problem I had, and we exchanged emails a couple of times and nothing was done to help me.

Your best bet is to champion this problem yourself and ask this forum for advice. I like some of the suggestions so far. Call the Ford dealer service center and ask whether they have checked the 12V battery. Heck, just disconnecting it for 30 seconds and reconnecting it could reset everything and fix it. It's worth a try.

Don't assume your Ford dealership has expertise on EVs. Most shops do good to change oil and put the correct oil in your vehicle.

In time this forum and AI will build a data base that will be similar to YouTube fix-it videos. Think about how valuable those helper videos are and how they have changed the game for DIY guys. In the future you'll just describe your detailed symptoms to your favorite AI companion on your smartphone, and it will tell you the most likely problem.

When you figure it out, please share what you find with this group.

My advice is not to wait on the "Ford Company" guy who responded to your post to help much. I got contacted by a similar person about a problem I had, and we exchanged emails a couple of times and nothing was done to help me.

Your best bet is to champion this problem yourself and ask this forum for advice. I like some of the suggestions so far. Yes, the issue was fixed and I have been in my truck for almost two weeks now with no issues. The problem was a disconnected wire caused by the passenger airbag. They were able to rewire connection and insulate connection. I shared the service report.
