The truck is 76” tall. I go through a 78” opening every day…

The whip antenna will hit, and it will freak you out. The solution there is an antenna delete or stubby.

Super helpful.. I don't know why I didn't think to do this in my garage.. as the truck clears there, although I'm at 82" at home. The diff is around 5"... I spoke to the office garage and they are giving me access to another level that has a 6'8" clearance so I'll give that a go.

Yup that’s the easiest way to measure. The black humps are the highest point outside of the antenna.

I don’t hesitate to pull in if I have 6’7” of clearance according to the garage. I don’t usually go under that even though the truck technically fits.

I have the same situation with the garage door at my office being 6' 4" or 76". When i got my truck i measured it from the ground to the top of the satellite sensors. It is 78 and 1/8" tall. This dimension matches closely to the 2022 lightning spec sheet which shows the cab height to be 78.3 " which is attached.

I was able to swap my indoor parking spot for an outdoor spot which was the safest choice. Note I have a Platinum with 22" wheels on it.

I parked in a 6'10" underground garage. Had a spotter. The corners were too tight and the garage was actually 6'8" or less.

Never assume the measurements are correct.

That will solve it. I go in 6' 6" garages regularly but really slowly and I watch closely when the whisker hits. I like @Shawnson 's idea with the tape on the antenna. I will likely do that!

Definitely beware of dips and bumps of any size.

I make it worse. I have a cab high shell on the truck with three 2-way radio antennas on the shell - two are a little over 6 inches and the middle one is 19 inches (440 and 2M for the hams out there). The short antennas are stiff enough that they may bend if hit very far down from the top so I prefer not to ever hit those. The 19 inch antenna is flexible enough that if the short ones clear, the long one will easily bend over. That all means that I treat 7 foot as my minimum. Fortunately I don't very often have to go into parking structures that are low.

I feel comfortable when it says 7ft... I've tried 6'-8" and that was already way too low for my liking... I would definitely not try 6-6" unless you know other trucks have done it successfully and you follow that exact same path. It all depends on the person doing the measuring. Some will give a little leeway and some people will measure right on. Also it's really hard for anyone to measure right on because it depends on the wheelbase. Height angles change on slopes. At 6'6 you leave no room for error and are playing Russian roulette.
