Does your truck not have the sensor on the door handle to unlock by touching it? My 23 XLT does, so I would have thought the Lariat would. But I am not at all familiar with European spec
Yes it does. But I can’t reach the passenger door in the garage. So I have to walk around the car and back.

*counts the days before someone sources parts to do US dual side charging option*
Henning has been helpful with my quest to get my charging port moved to the other side. I am not after dual ports, just more convenience for me, for DC charging. The provided pictures are from Henning.

I just have not been able to source the charging port shroud/surround/door, it's a perfectly manufactured mirror image of ours. I have the proper fender and port door cover on my '23.

EU is going to be CCS2 though, which won't work on NA CCS1 plugs. You might be able to move the port but I dont believe you will be able to use any DCFC afterwards.

I don't think this is an easy fix for the OP since the lock mechanism is connected to the door lock system on the truck and the pocketed keyfob/PAAK requires a touch sensor to unlock, which the port does not have.

To my knowledge, Forscan options have not been found for either enabling (for NA) or disabling (for EU) the port L2 lock feature. Perhaps the experts will find a way someday, as I'd like to enable the feature on my NA truck.

@Ford Motor Company might be able to change it programmatically, by changing the port lock to operate on the proximity system similar to the Frunk and tailgate, but it probably wouldn't be high on their list. I'd suggest putting in a request using the "Give Feedback" option on the Ford App.

As an experiment, without unlocking the vehicle, if you place the fob on the left side of the vehicle (base of the windshield, for example), and then walk back to the right side and try pushing the unlock button on the port, does it unlock? Off hand I'm not sure if the EU versions have approach detection for the port unlock at all.

I will test this.

Sounds like the best option in the US is to put the NACS plug in the 'right hand charger door' location! Then we can charge with the FCSP in the garage, and at a Tesla Destination or Fast charger on the road! How much will that cost?

Of course we would need some software updates to recognize if you have plugged a charger into both sides to tell you to knock it off. Or maybe for my 2023 use the primary charger for one side and the secondary charger for the other side

There is limited space in my garage, and my charge port is on the right side of the vehicle, and that's the side I enter the garage.

To unplug the charge cable I either have to walk around the truck and unlock the car with the driver door, or fish out my key and press the button. I loose at least 4 seconds every day doing this. Passenger side is inaccessible.

Why can't the car unlock the charge cable when I press the button, keeping the key in my pocket? Why do I need to unlock the doors first?

Can this be changed with Forscan?
Do you have a setting to turn off the cable lock? I would look in the vehicle settings menu.
