Given that the Lightning is exactly 2" too long for my garage, it's going to be parked outside eternally. So, planning on GA summer heat.
Funny how trucks got longer and garages got shorter over the past 10 or so years, isn’t it?

Hard to tell with the glare but got the front windows tinted to match the factory rears (20% ceramic film). Very happy with the results. I highly recommend.

Taking mine in on Wednesday... but gotta stay legal (35%). I wanted the sunroof tinted but starting reading all of the tint causes the sunroof to crack and decided to leave it alone. I don't think Ford tinted the Sunroof dark enough. I never have the shade open during the day.

I put the tint on the moonroof and the windshield because of the UV blocking properties. The ceramic 80 percent is so light, you can't really tell that it's tinted, but it makes such a huuuuge difference in temperature inside of the cab, as well as all of those UV rays attacking your skin. It also helps keep your dashboard and interior from degrading so quickly from the sun beating down on it.

Hell, I don't even bother closing the shade anymore... well, maybe in the winter to help keep heat from escaping as quickly.
See that's what I'm missing on my truck! I had all the glass (all four windows and rear glass including sliding panel) done last year with a clear (70%) ceramic tint to cut down on UV and infrared to keep the cab cooler. But I totally forgot about the moonroof and once you have all the other glass done with ceramic tint, you really notice the heat coming in through the moonroof. The shade is little more than a sheet of fabric so it does little to stop the heat.

So I'll be going on Monday to have the moonroof done as well.

The peer pressure here is palpable. Will discuss all options with Tint World and probably start with a not-to-exceed budget…

I’ll have to explain to my too-smart wife that the tint will increase range efficiency in the summer (or 10 months out of year in GA!)…

now to justify tires, power boards, leveling kit…

Power running boards are the most underrated thing ever. Definitely a lot more usable imo due to how far they drop. I specifically looked for one with them when I bought mine since it was only like $255 more than getting the stock fixed boards.

That’s what I experienced getting a disabled relative in and out with OEM standard boards. Fortunately I’m pretty strong and she weighs only 140#…but it was a struggle.

Agreed, I purposely didn't look at any Lightnings without the Power running boards when I bought my Lightning. My wife is 5' 3". Both she and the dogs ;) really appreciate the extra drop that they give.

The only very minor "draw Back" is the slight noise as they extend and retract.

Have my tint appointment scheduled for the 28th, good thing I found this thread... a couple questions:

2025 Lariats: mine does not appear to have rear passenger window tints, maybe it's the way I glanced at the truck, do we know if Ford did not include it? From what I understand Ford's factory tint is purely cosmetic and is not heat rejecting?

I'm going to stop my Tint World on my way home from work today and have a talk about budgets and realities.

Tint World confirms that factory tint is for “privacy only”. So, I’m considering front windows -35%, rear windows and rear windshield-70% (will make existing only somewhat darker), moon roofs -50%…I usually keep the shade drawn. Nothing on front windshield…gotta keep it legal. It was 106F in the truck today…gotta get it better pronto. I don’t have final price yet. The franchise owner has an incredible F150 - very dark and completely illegal. I’m going for ceramic but not nano (top of the line)…budgets.

I'd be curious to see a reading from a good tint reader. The el cheapo amazon one I had showed the uv and ir (heat) were pretty close to the tint I had installed on the fronts.

Well that is interesting!
I’m also going to price shop Tint World. I liked their store but not their lack of appointments…their advice: “come around noon on weekdays”.
