I put the tint on the moonroof and the windshield because of the UV blocking properties. The ceramic 80 percent is so light, you can't really tell that it's tinted, but it makes such a huuuuge difference in temperature inside of the cab, as well as all of those UV rays attacking your skin. It also helps keep your dashboard and interior from degrading so quickly from the sun beating down on it.

Hell, I don't even bother closing the shade anymore... well, maybe in the winter to help keep heat from escaping as quickly.
I’m leery about the windshield because of the low angle haze of the ceramic. I can already see it in the side windows. Not a huge deal on those but that might drive me nuts on the windshield. The moonroof is smart though. I may do that down the road.

Llumar Ceramic on the front sides and believe Air 80 on the windshield. Window tint exemption to keep the inspector and popo off my back.

El cheapo Amazon tint reader. Didn't measure the fronts un-tinted so 1st reading is tinted and 2nd is the oem back tint.

I need that tint exemption!

From what I understand, a doctor can draw up something that you can show police that tells them that the tint is medically necessary.

"Officer, I get intense migraines after a while of driving without the tint." Lol

Only thing I notice with the Air 80 is it can make the color of leaves a bluish color from a certain angle when I have polarized glasses.

Migraines were my excuse lol. Had them for going on 25 years now. Medicine I take for it makes my eyes sensitive to light so I'm usually wearing sunglasses with the visor down even on cloudy days. Exemption here in NC allows you 20% on the front sides and up to 70% on the windshield. There is a bill here currently trying to get rid of the restriction but wouldn't expect it to pass.

Yes, I thought the haze i sometimes get with the 35 percent ceramic on the side windows would happen, but the 80 percent on the windshield has given me zero trouble. It's exactly like it was before the tint, only I can look at the sun without getting completely blinded! But just looking at it, from the inside, or out, you can't tell that it's there. :)

Reasonable. Since I usually keep the moonroof shade closed most of the time, I'd skip that one, but will strongly consider adding tint to the back and windshield.

Funny that this thread appeared. The sunroof glass of my lightning is the first car I ever had where the sun is pinpoint brutal. Just yesterday I scheduled myself to have a UV tint put on the sunroof, and the front side windows (although I don’t need a darker tint - I just want less intense direct sun on me.

I like it but here in Florida guaranteed you will get pulled over and ticketed.
Front windows have to be 28% or higher unless you have a medical exemption.

After more than 20 skin cancers treated and removed I think I could get a referral for an exemption. I wear SPF 70 whenever I go outside.

Saying all that I actually had a dealership remove tint on a brand new vehicle before I signed the paperwork. I felt like I was in a cave and driving at night created issues.

This is me at Day 12 of efudex treatment Last year. After 2 more squamous Cell carcinomas were removed from my nose last week I get to go through the treatment next month. It’s not very pleasant.

I will investigate clear ceramic on front windows to cut down damaging UV rays.

Tint World claims to do ceramic tint on fronts for $159...30-45 minutes installed. Seem right?
I did my two fronts at Tint World near Houston and paid $249. Premier XPEL 30%.

last week I just did my windshield 50% XPEL at the same Tint World for $199 and I really like that. Wished I went 20% on the two fronts

That looks really good. I’ll just go to the Tint World and max what is legal in GA. I’ll report back when finished.

I may be SOL on front windshield in GA:

https://www.macon.com/news/state/georgia/article283983933.htmlWhat is the law on car tint in Georgia?

The local tint guys will know what’s legal.

The owner of a Solar Solutions that did my tint told me that there is NO amount of tint that can be applied to the windshield. If I can remember right, he said that's a federal law for all 50 states, but I'm not sure. He said that most people put 50 percent on their windshield and that they are happy. I don't want any trouble from police so I went with the 80 percent because it's so light.
