Buyers order, order guide

Dealer just reached out, said I needed to sign the buyers order, order guide and provide a copy of my driver's license. Wave 1 here, not sure what this means but seems pretty standard (and like something I should've been asked to do last month). Anyone else see the same?

Wave 1 as well. On 1/6/22, I signed a "Preview Order" and a "Buyer's Order" and sent a copy of my DL. Shortly thereafter, I rec'd confirmation of my order from Ford.

Weird, I got my confirm email from Ford as well, guessing my dealer just forgot the paperwork part of it.

Wave 1, same thing..ordered online 1/6, 1/7 went to dealer, signed order preview, b.o., and copy of lD. My sales manager was rushing me on the phone 1/6 to come in a.s.a.p. to get it done. According to him this was standard procedure Ford required to verify you're really the person who ordered online, and to complete the order process. That's why i recommended in many previous threads for everyone to follow suit before dealers figured out ways to get cute and tricky.. which they have.

Yes, this is the standard customer order verification process, put in place last year to limit bogus retail orders being created by the dealership themselves. It's a good sign they are asking for it

My dealer hasn’t asked me for anything like that, but they all know me when I walk in the building. I’ve been in three times since placing the Lightning order.

What a RIP-OFF. My dealer (GlennOak Ford in Victoria) just contacted me and said they were applying a cdn$12,000 Dealer surcharge .... they asked if I was OK with that or should they cancel my reservation? .... so in that way they get to move out the folks who won't pay above MSRP and make sure they only sell to folks who will pay the extra! That's called bait and switch and is not legal in Canada or the US.

Call Ford and move your reservation/order to a different dealership.

Talk to them on the phone so there is no record and say no problem. Then when you are invited to order call ford to change dealers. You’ll still get to order at that time and have it moved to a non sleazy dealer.
