ECU module programming guide using FDRS

I was there, for a very long time and then randomly one day it kicked over and I got past 1.7.1. That's gotta be the hardest part, once you get updated to 2.1 you'll probably be able to update easily from there on out. I'm stuck getting to 2.3, my usb start consistently but I get stuck in "restart truck to finish" loop.

Just curious, how long?

Wanted to ask some advice. I got the VX nano and have been updating modules tonight. Well everything went ok except when it came time for the Side obstacle detection control module c, d, LH, RH. When trying to update each one they all appeared to fail. Fast forward and now when using the truck I get Blind Spot Detection w/cross traffic off warning. Any ideas on what I should try next? VIN: 1FTFW1E8XMFA27075

Are the updates still in your list? If so, retry the updates. If not, I would probably try to PMI the module(s) and see if that resolves it. Maybe someone else has better insight though.

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned before, but with the Ukrainian war, it’s possible we could lose access to FORScan. Although the developer appears to still be releasing the 2-month trial licenses, at least for now, it has stopped selling extended licenses. One of the nice things about FORScan is the ability to reload as-built data. Fortunately, there is also a tool in FDRS that will allow you to reload your as-built configuration should you need to do so. Page 3 of the attached Global FDRS Quick Reference Guide (old, but still somewhat helpful) confirms that the “[Module Name] Configuration” tool is the FDRS version of IDS’s as-built tool. https://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/Catalog/ids_manuals/GFDRSQRG1p2.pdf

Interesting. Looks like Ford’s answer to FORScan Lite. Might be good for diagnostics but it doesn’t appear to support programming.

Check under your Features / Driver Assistance options, it may be off. When I did the TRM it turned off some of the features and took me a few days to figure it out.

Interesting. Looks like Ford’s answer to FORScan Lite. Might be good for diagnostics but it doesn’t appear to support programming.

It’s not coming up in the App Store for iOS Yet. But it does require a subscription. They better be offering something for the subscription.

Probably because they’re not shipping the device yet. It will cost $499 when released on or about 3/22/22 plus the $149.99 cost of a 1-yr subscription. At that price point I’m having difficulty seeing the value since it doesn’t appear to be a programmer.

Possibly, although a problem with the IPMA might also be a good candidate. I’d check there before proceeding to a PMI.
