I'm not really a fan of the lane keeping/warning.
I have it set to the "lowest" setting (warning?) where the steering wheel vibrates as you approach the lane edge.

I discovered on my drive home the other day that you can actually "shut down" the lane warning entirely.

Turn on cruise control.
Press the "X" to disable CC, while still keeping CC turned on.

Now you do not get the steering wheel vibrations.

...Got to keep those a loving good, vibrations (not) happening...

Yes, discovered that a while ago, take note that turning off lane keeping will disable blue cruise hands free, you will need to touch the steering wheel to reassure the system confidence that your ready to take over.

I kind of like it that way better as it keeps me engaged...even if it bitches at me while I drink from my water bottle.

Every once in a while, I read a comment from you BlueCruisers that I don’t understand. I have an XLT 312, which includes Lane CENTERING (which comes when truck is equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control, and is a serious upgrade to “Lane Keeping”).
Lane Centering, it seems to me, is kind of like BlueCruise that requires hands-on? (at least once every 30sec or so), or maybe more like my Tesla (basic) Autopilot’s “Autosteer,” which works almost exactly the same way as my Lightning’s Lane Centering.
I’m also annoyed by the vibes of the Lane Keeping nanny, so I keep that selected “off,” and keep Lane Centering selected “on.” I never get vibes, and the truck steers itself, even on local roads where BlueCruise (if I had it) would be unavailable.
I just assumed that on your Lariat/Platinum trucks, when BlueCruise was unavailable, your truck reverted to Lane Centering, the only real difference being that you have to keep your hands on the wheel (but not your eyes on the road). So the question is, when you’re rocking BlueCruise and it temporarily shuts off, does your Lariat revert to Lane Centering, or to Lane Keeping?
And (I have to ask!) are you able to use Lane Centering to have the truck steer itself on non-BlueCruise mapped highways (like I am), or does having BlueCruise foreclose the alternative use of Lane Centering?

I'm guilty of conflating lane keeping & lane centering.

For non mapped hands free roads, my Lariat will center itself and navigate local roads with well defined center, lane and gutter lines, which have gentle curves when I activate the button on the left end of the left side of the steering wheel ACC/BC, it wants my hand on the wheel for these unmapped roads.

A particular path I often take has a couple of sharp bends, she doesn't like it and cancels the active controlled steering, since I have my hands on the wheel I instantaneously navigate the bend in the road, to be honest, this is not the ideal conditions to be trusting the system, it's NOT tesla FSD.

Another situation is the lane keeping/centering switched on but ACC off, I'll get the lane departure vibrations and visual cues on the drivers display, this feedback as adjustable.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, most people use “Lane Keeping” and “Lane Centering” interchangeably, when in reality they are two very different features employing different hardware on the truck. The former is the earlier technology (from about a decade ago), where the latter (newer tech) requires the additional hardware that comes with adaptive cruise control. Even the settings toggle for Lane Centering is kind of buried, subbed under Adaptive Cruise Control settings (same menu where BlueCruise toggle is found, I believe, on the trucks that have it).
Nice to hear that having BlueCruise doesn’t keep you from hands-on “auto-steering” on non-BC highways. My Tesla spoiled me forever with that feature, and every new vehicle I buy from now on has to have it. (I chose XLT 312A because at the time, it was the lowest taxcredit-qualified config that included autosteer Lane Centering).
I agree that the Lane Centering autosteering is not quite as solid as basic Tesla Autopilot. However, it allows lane changes without shutting off driver assistance, and is a little easier to “tweak” your position within the lane while driving, than Tesla Autopilot (which wants to be 100% in charge of your position in the lane!). I feel like I’m more in charge with the Ford system, even though the truck has liberated me from the task of consciously steering. The hands-on warnings are just about perfect, imho, for an optimum balance between assisted driving and attentive driver responsibility.
I wish my truck had BC, for those occasional drives on mapped highways, but for most of my driving, the Lane Centering function meets my needs. I kind of wish the ‘24 Flash had kept the Sync 4 (vs. 4A) horizontal display (ICE F150 has both BC and horizontal display) - for some reason, the Lightning Flash gets the larger vertical screen, and the visible BC monitors, of the original Lariat/Platinum.
Thanks for moderating an incredibly helpful (and frequently entertaining!) forum!

I'll have to say, I've revisited my methods.
I turned on lane centering before my hour drive to the airport.
While the "quality" of hands free was no different, I did like not being nagged for steering input.
I think for my airport runs I'll turn LC on, and have it off for my normal city driving.
