They should have made those incentives only work when you're 60 miles or more from your address.Free charging incentivises problematic behavior as well.
You're caps/shift keys are wore out ?A Chevy Bolt has a 50amp maximum speed DC Fast Charging mechanics... meaning, those drivers are never worried about 'speed', they just want to charge... therefore they don't concern themselves with 'which' unit they pull up to... I can't blame um.
the other day, on my long 655 mile trip, I was plugged in at EA... I didn't necessarily pay attention to whether it was 'only' the 150kw speed unit, I just wanted one that WORKED. Another vehicle slowly and carefully backed up into the space on the other side of the units. The older gentleman got out and started staring carefully at my unit, since the SCREEN was on his side... he grabbed the second cable as though he was thinking of plugging it into his car...then, he paused, as his wife made a comment that maybe it couldn't charge two vehicles at the same time... he then looked a little perplexed.
I was getting out of my truck about the same time, and added that 'no, EA doesn't have the ability to charge two vehicles at once from the same unit, even though they provide TWO charge cables, for any unknown reason, at least. He resigned himself to now having to 'move' his car in order to pull in FORWARD and use the other unit, which is also in the same parking space, but faced MY way... he was really confused.
I charged successfully and finished about the same time he had moved his car and was looking to use the 'other' charge unit... he saw me unplugging and added then 'great, I'll back back in again and use that one', as he pointed to mine.
Tesla has a Supercharger and Vehicle design where ALL of their vehicles HAVE to back into the typically 10-row supercharger units... with rare exception to an 'end' unit'. I'm not sure where the CyberTruck charge port is, but they may also now be looking at how to configure their future installs to make sense for all us CCS vehicles that are typically NOT at the rear. Even many EA configurations don't make great sense for us large TRUCKS, either.
On the last EA stop, back at that same EA station, I had to pull into the last space, which then required me to bring the charge cable COMPLETELY across the HOOD, and barely was able to plug in, with an inch of cable to spare. Things are not always 'easy' when it comes to charging. I would never want my wife, or one of my three daughter-in-laws to have to WRANGLE with these cables, and these 'parking' decisions at charge stations... it's just a little too messy dealing with all these 'issues'. You can understand why some just pull in and plug in and don't worry about whether 'you' like it or not. That concern is just not on their radar.

None of us own anything. Tesla owners don't OWN Tesla Superchargers, either... but don't go and ask them that : /
I hope that Ford makes the adaptor that they surveyed about right after confirming the move to NACS. I believe they were looking at a NACS to CCS adapter with around a meter of whip to allow a Lightning or Mach-E to park in a stall correctly and still access the Tesla charger. I suspect that survey question was related to a request from Tesla to minimize icing an extra spot while we charge.I post this as a current Tesla and Lightning owner and previous owner of several Leafs.
As far as Tesla goes, it’s going to get interesting when Tesla opens up for others. Tesla owners have been spoiled with availability and reliability of Super Chargers Stalls. Most will feel entitled and when a Lightning takes up 2 stalls and remaining stalls are taken with Bolts, Rivians, Lucids taking 2 stalls it will get interesting.
I agree, with the caveat of a 5 minute buffer. Especially with our tanker of a battery, it is more likely we are deep charging and went to grab a bite or are visiting a store, so to me common curiosity is around 5 minutes to allow a person to get an alert and come to their car if away.Doesn't matter the vehicle, if it is done charging it needs to move.
And if it is at 80% and still charging, I will often engage in conversation.
Interesting, oh yea. Everybody is looking forward to being able to charge at Tesla. It will be nasty for a long while.I post this as a current Tesla and Lightning owner and previous owner of several Leafs.

Just think what will happen when those entitled, uppity Suzie que better than you Tesla drivers see a damn pickup in THEIR charger.
They are out there just like they are here.
The threads will follow as soon as the charging starts.
