10,000 trucks in inventory doesn't sound like a crazy number to me.

The article seems like a pile-on. I'm fine with that.
That's the first thing I thought of as well. Internets think there are roughly 2.6 million cars on dealer lots and in holding areas not sold.

So 0.3% of available vehicles are cybertrucks. Whooptie doo

TBH I was in the camp that wanted one when they were announced years ago. Driving by one today I think they're aging like milk. If they're not selling now I don't see the situation turning around regardless of the price cuts. Obviously my subjective opinion.

I wouldn’t think this was an issue if they were selling at a decent clip, but with demand seemingly falling out, why keep building the things? And with the introduction of the RWD version, why keep building the versions clearly nobody is ordering?

10000 is allot of trucks when according to recall notices, the only about 45000 total to be recalled. The recall covered ALL CT's.

I am one of the many who don't want one of those panel shedding, Frunk carrot slicing, dystopian looking monstrosities from the company with a ________ (fill in the blank using your imagination) as CEO.

If I were Ford, I'd not worry about those things - maybe worry about the Slate though?

One of the most biased articles I’ve read in a long time. It should have said “opinion” at the top of it.

We get it, you don’t like Elon Musk.
But you offered nothing to refute either.

Regardless, it is clear CT is a sales tu*d.

I asked Mr. Google how many cybertrucks are unsold, which lead me to this site (referenced in an Elektrek article):

Ford F-150 Lightning Tesla Reportedly Has $800 Million Worth of Cybertrucks That Nobody Wants 1747254460008-v6

Looks like it spiked at 10k and people latched on to that? Webpage says these numbers are updated as of a month ago.

Should we take a look at how many F150's are on lots? According to a nationwide search on Cars.com, there are over 70,000. Let's say half of that is the actual number and an average price of $40k, that's 1.4 Billion (with a `B`) in inventory. So what does that mean?

I would buy one at the right price. They are definitely a lot more maneuverable than the Lightning. I drove one previously and liked it a lot. It's weird looking, but there is something about the in-your-face styling that appeals to me.

However, they haven't been even close to the right price. I'm leasing my Lightning XLT at 299/mo and a Cybertruck is at least 3 times as much to lease. You can't even lease a Model Y RWD under $400, let alone a Cybertruck.

That said if Farley drops the Lightning in favor of so called EREVs, might have to look at the CT again. I won't go back to ICE period.

Honest question though: is it fair to compare all F-150s against just the Cybertruck? Last year Ford sold 732K F-series trucks so that's like 10% and so far this year numbers are up. My quick search of just new Lightnings on Cars.com yields just under 5K.
