PU-Sync-25.2.1.6.5 - Walk Away Lock Toggles UPDATE POST# 95

So I got this update Friday in my 2022 XLT and went into forscan to enable the toggles. I just updated everything I could using FDRS a few weeks ago but couldn’t update the bcm. Does this mean I still need the bcm update for this to work?

Got this update last night as well. I already had the WAL toggle setting enabled via FORscan from a few months ago. I tried enabling it this morning and it still automatically revert back to disabled.

It seems for me that in order to have the pleasure of software updates, I have to pay for an FDRS license and do it myself. I really don't know why Ford is so damn bad at this. Between this awful software experience and the laggy screen UI, not sure I would buy another Ford EV (which is sad, because I LOVE the driving experience of the truck, minus the sometimes-mushy front suspension)

I agree with you 100%. So frustrated with their software team. I just got this update today and when I went to toggle it on, it was nowhere to be found. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN???????

Even with FDRS you won’t be able to update the bcm without a certain certification and login. Gonna have to take a trip to the dealer for that.

I received the update this afternoon on my 23 XLT ER, but the option is disabled on the screen.

I was suppose to have the update too but it is not even on my screen. Can’t find it anywhere. Can you direct me to where it should be?

Yeah but they won't do that unless they are being paid to do other things. I tried twice already - and they were even doing other things on my truck. So screw it, I don't really care so much about that feature to beg for it. Yet another failed experience with Ford (again, thankfully the driving experience is so damn good)

Update your Vehicle account details to include year and trim level (XLT, Flash, etc.) so we know what you have. Depends on whether you have Sync 4 or 4A.

Funny you should ask. When I woke up this morning, I woke up a little faster than usual when I read this on my phone.

Haven't had time to test it yet.

If you havent recieved the BCM update, it wont work with just the APIM update, it will have the toggle, but it wont stay selected. Im also waiting on the BCM update.

Thanks for updating your profile. Lariats have Sync 4A, the 15” screen. See post 42 for what you should see under Settings..Vehicle..Locks. You should see a new section called Walk Away Lock.

On Friday I had a cluster glitch in the matrix indicating cruise control was not available. Meanwhile I didn't even have it turned on... It was the typical Ford way that an update was coming. Didn't drive till this morning and long and behold.

I saw the updated thread not long after I post that. Yep, after a little testing I'm in the same boat. Oh well. I'm at least pleased that I got the update relatively soon. It's encouraging that when (if?) they send out the BCM update I shouldn't have to wait terribly long.

23 Lariat. Had WAL several months after dealer visit. Got update today. No WAL settings under locks
