Frunk Randomly Opened When Truck Was Unlocked

Saw this the other day and thought it was odd. I walked up to my truck and tried opening it via unlocking through the driver door handle touch sensor. I heard the click the truck makes when it makes up but no unlock (happens a bunch) so then I went up to the key pad and unlocked it that way. Right after the truck unlocked, my trunk opened normally with no error message.

I had a previous issue of the frunk opening while driving but I addressed that with a plastic cover piece to prevent inadvertent activation by frunk contents. My frunk was empty though on this day.

I use PaaK but my phone was locked and in my pocket. I have an iPhone but I do not include the frunk controls on the swipe down quick access menu. My key fobs are secured in a faraday bag and were not in a position where the frunk button could have been pressed.

Once I hopped in I closed the frunk from inside the truck and things were normal. I could not think of a reason why that would happen so I submitted feedback via FordPass in case there’s something in the data there.

Hasn’t happened since. Anyone else ever see this?

After entering your door code, there is an option to follow-up w/i 5 seconds with a:

• 7/8 to OPEN Frunk, or a
• 5/6 to open the tailgate.

Yep, they bumped that other button and popped the frunk.

That has to be it, my code overlaps and I usually just keep mashing it in til my truck unlocks. Such a simple answer, I love it. I was considerably befuddled when I looked up and saw the frunk open lol
