Saw this on one of the Facebook forums. Do any of you have this feature? Or is this another Ford Software "enhancement"?

Strange, I thought it was only available on the Bronco.

What it actually does according to Ford:
"Trail turn assist can reduce the turning radius of your vehicle by applying the brakes to the inside rear wheel in low-speed, high steering-angle maneuvers."

Edit: I'm wrong. Found this:

Wonder if someone switched it on via ForScan. @Whammy Bar do you have a link to the post?

Seems like a "new" truck of unknown year. And not something done intentionally....

Since the capability to modulate the brakes individually is part of ABS and traction control, no other hardware should be needed.

Just my guess, for what it’s worth…….

Totally agree.

I enabled "Hill Descent Control" on my 2013 F-150. FORScan and a <$10 button. Never used it once except testing it going out my development. Simply regulates the braking on each wheel to hold the set speed.

This is pretty clearly the same concept, just on one wheel.

I expect it would work if similar tech was available on the 2013s. Has anyone tested it on dirt? Probably wouldn't use it but one never knows where you might end up.

I had just seen this last nite:

And did a search for this feature on the F150 Lightning. I'm glad it MAY be an option that can be turned on. This truck has a horrid turning radius!

Here it is on a super duty:

We know from earlier today the screenshot is not a 2025. That year model has a 5th drive mode called Slippery. So agree this is likely a FORScan mod.

I assume this is only for use off-road/soft dirt? I would love it for some u-turns I need to make in my neighborhood.

Looks like it’s at this memory address of the APIM:
7D0-02-01 xxx* xxx xx--

My asbuilt has a 6 in that position.

Livinitup’s spreadsheet indicates a change to 7 would enable Trail Turn Assist without changing any other settings. I have not tested it.

edited to add:

Might also need to change the byte in 7D0-10-02 xxxx xxx* xx--
From 0 to 4

I would love to have the Slippery mode button.

U-turns?!? I need 4-5 empty lanes for that! One thing I miss about my Subaru.

I had a few minutes to test it. Forscan has Trail Turn Assist as a shortcut, so I used that shortcut.
It just turns off the mode a moment after turning it on.

So, yes, I can add it to my menus (it shows up in every mode menu).

But when I engage it, it turns itself off after a moment. It doesn’t matter if the locking diff is on or off, if the auto hold is on or off, or if 1PD is on or off. The Trail Turn Assist turns off after a moment.

And I confirmed that tapping it on, and then driving in a tight circle does not change the turning radius nor does the inside rear tire reduce its turn rate.
