absolutely insane.. i bet they didn't even help him because they're so hopelessWell I was told off this weekend at the cars and Coffee.. By a Ford rep. They told me I had no business helping anyone. Poor guy had been trying for months to get help. I pulled out my computer and all the sudden FOrd engineers were coming in on Helicopters.
They told me to leave him alone and their engineers would help him out.
He messaged me after So ill wait and see if they actually get him sorted out or not but he had been trying for months to get help. No one from Ford gave him the time of day. Jesse gets his lap top out and its Defcon 5.
All I wanted was to help the guy. I never seen anything like it. I thought they were going to throw me out. Had two guys following me around the rest of the day until maybe 9:30..
Anyways.. Glad it got fixed. I mean I dotn know much.. Im not an engineer.. as I was informed this weekend.
We will see. He will let me know if he doesnt get it handled. He said he got a phone number of an engineer there. SO maybe they will follow up with him.absolutely insane.. i bet they didn't even help him because they're so hopeless
they don't realize ford doesn't help people so an awesome guy on the forum does... they probably have some tracker so whenever you go to help someone they shut you down so they can not help him instead
Ive been known to tinker ..***UPDATE***
1 day after following Jesse-Infotainment ‘s helpful advice and my truck has downloaded the first OTA update since I got it. (ECG2-25.2.8.5 whatever that is.)
He’s not an engineer, or so he’s been told, but he knows stuff.
Not entirely accurate. None of us use this to steal from Ford. Turning off double-honk while the truck is running is not a feature Ford charges for. Enabling the BC 1.4 features only works if the owner already has a Bluecruise plan. It's just a customization that can be done within the existing parameters of the system.IMO, the problem with FORScan and people with FDRS is the gleeful broadcasting across social media of it. Been going on for years. "Look at the feature I turned on but didn't pay for".
Locking down and stomping out was bound to happen sometime.
I get what you're saying, but when people aren't getting updates and other things like that, and jesse goes to help (FORD does NOT help, they just shove you off as they did to me) and jesse is the ONLY one to help you... They shouldn't be shutting him down and instead getting him on the team. Hes had to have fixed countless issues where ford wont blink an eye. Like they're doing for me. ford is entirely in the wrong on this...IMO, the problem with FORScan and people with FDRS is the gleeful broadcasting across social media of it. Been going on for years. Name one feature that can be turned on by Forscan that is by itself a paid feature. Just one.I was speaking in general terms. For well over a decade, people have been crowing on forums what they have been doing. It got attention years ago. It just reached a point where they decided to act. Not unexpected. Maybe unwelcome by those of us that benefit, yes.
Don't know why you're responding to a 6 month old post, but your argument doesn't make any sense.Name one feature that can be turned on by Forscan that is by itself a paid feature. Just one.
Yes, well aware of features from higher trims can be enabled, but that one forscan change doesn't turn a truck into a different trim. So name one forscan change that would be something Ford would normally get paid for.
It's not like people are hacking their trucks to add Blue Cruise for free. People are just making miscellaneous tweaks that they'd otherwise never see (matrix headlights, cameras at speed, etc) or skipping the cluster that is Ford OTAs (PPO while off, charge speed on IPC). Ford isn't losing any money. If I buy a Lariat, and turn on options that my truck doesn't have, but that are included in a Platinum, Ford makes no money. If I bought the Platinum with that feature, Ford got paid for it.
Many including Bluecruise. The people that know how to do it don't share it publicly though.Name one feature that can be turned on by Forscan that is by itself a paid feature. Just one.
