Just checked. Renewal blurb used to say 1 year (12 mo) before. Now it shows 2 years in both the Ford app and on the web. I wonder whether the renewal period depends on when you bought your truck. My order was placed in 11/2022 and delivered 05/2023 after the Dearborn battery fire.

The app under connected services. Oddly enough the website still shows 1. @Ford Motor Company - Any insight into why the website shows different from the app and if Ford is rolling out additional years?

It might need some time to sync. But in all honesty I don't know. Let me ask some folks.

If Ford is extending BC subscriptions, I imagine your PR group would also be officially declaring this in a statement.

Thanks for looking into.

My 3 year trial period has already ended and I am in my free renewal. It is only one year though and expires 12/31/26. I gotta figure out how I can get it extended.
My window sticker showed Bluecruise included with no other conditions attached.

My opinion…Ford should gift all of us BC for life (and any future updates to BC) given the announcement they have ditched our vehicles. Especially since we were/are believers and helped them collect some real world data during our daily drives. It’s the least Ford could do for us.

I agree, they should gift it to all of us for the life of the truck, but that's not what's going to happen. Ford is in the biz to make money and giving away free things is not on the table. In fact, giving us all free Blue Cruise costs them because if they give it to us, then they have to support us if we have issues.

You should be praying that we ever get any update to the software (Blue Cruise or other) that is not a required safety update. Ford has abandoned the platform completely. Why would the bean counters at Ford every provide another cent in the budget to enhance the software in a defunct platform. Sure, development for Blue Cruise will continue for the rest of their active vehicle platforms, but I will guarantee you that the Blue Cruise 1.4 code running on my Lightning is not the same as the Blue Cruise 1.4 running on an ICE F-150 or even a MachE. I'm sure the code base is similar, but the vehicle it has to control is very different. Even within the the 4 production years of the Lightning itself there are going to be dozens, maybe 100s, of variations in the vehicles that would have to be developed to and tested before release.

There is always that one dude who needs to attempt to validate in their own mind they may be “smarter than anyone else”. 🙄

“Source…36 years of IT…”. Bruh… Really ?

It was just a statement I made. I really don’t need a lesson on recovery of R&D or any other point you were trying to make. It was a simple remark.

Yeah "Bruh", not the point at all. Maybe have ChatGPT explain it to you.

If you don't want responses to your remarks, then don't post them on open forums.

Any updates on this? Mine never changed (as others had 3-year extensions), regardless of answer, be nice to hear something back.

Thanks

Looks like they added another year now. Original expiration was 2/2027 and now it's good until 2/2031. Website also lists the same. Guess the secret to unlimited BC is to buy a comma.
