Question about the new comma 4 kit. Did Comma take into account the CAN bus "echos" and build a suppressor into the kit? Or does it still need the extra part?

you wouldn’t be able to see it. But it may happen eventually. Not a priority though.

How did I miss a whole other company that makes the hardware?! What's the word about the Konik ... I am definitely interested in a bigger screen. Are they as trusted / trustable as the comma devices?
Does the Blue Pilot run equally well on this Konik device?

Before the tarrif war started I bought one and recommended it to quite a few people. It’s exactly like a 3X except the USB port is in a different location, the body is 3d printed (I actually like that better because the device is not as slippery), and they log data to their own server instead of comma’s server. They recently updated it with their own version of a quick dock too (which takes sales away from me, but that doesn’t make me recommend it any less). The best part of Konik is that the founder has a passion for good customer service, the exact opposite of comma. The only real downside is they are based in Poland. So longer lead times when you order or need repairs. Also they don’t sell
a Ford Q4 harness, so you still need that from Comma. Last I heard it was about $112 in tariffs due to FedEx when you get your device, so keep that in mind when you calculate price.

Yes, BluePilot runs great on a Konik. They are still on the C3X firmware, so if you buy it you will get the option to install SunnyPilot from the startup menu. Choose that so it will install the DNS files, then once setup is incomplete, uninstall SunnyPilot from the menu and on the reboot choose custom software and use the BluePilot URL.

I was just happy with my 3x but looking at the four up close in @Ajzride ’s video I might have to snag one with my bonus and the new dock. Looks so much better up on the windshield and I already turn the UI / screen off when driving.

I hate there weren’t any chip upgrades but it is what it is, especially with the market these days

but yes the coupler is slightly separating from the pressure of the fatter long cable but I will just zip tie it like @B177y recommended and all is good

Yeah.. looking at it. If they had a US based outlet, I would be probably jumping on it.

But given the fact the tariff could be literally anything on a whim, and (because they are in Europe) Konik are probably a lot less focussed on the device crapping out in extreme heat, I am reticent to buy it.
Their satisfaction guarantee seems weak too. 14 days with a number of caveats and outs, vs. Comma's 30 day for whatever.

I do love the bigger screen tho, and the fact they are very active and actually seem caring on their discord server.
Comma could really use a strong customer advocate team and a much better production process. I think it is great they don't just chuck money at things and hope for the best, but sometimes you need to spend to make the customer experience better or you leave money on the table.

As they said on "Office Space", Engineers are not good with people lol.
