My brother just bought a 22 Platinum that was a buyback where a module was replaced. He’s on the 300mi trip home from the dealer with 100+ miles to go. It was at 100% when he picked it up and did not check the DCFC. The dealer had a DCFC and he assumed that is how they charged it to 100%. His first DCFC was at a Tesla SC. He got the red flashing indicator and the went to a Francis across the street and got the same error. He is able to L2. What could this be?

Have him try this reset process. The pin that the charge port uses to indicate something is plugged is not sliding all the way through it's travel. It's hanging up at some point.

This won't allow DC fast charging. The level 2 plug doesn't use this pin, so that is why it still works. Others have had success resetting the charge port with the procedure in the picture below.

Finish by completing the steps in the reverse order.

Difficult to say without a fault code. Charge port come to mind as mentioned above but could be something else. Did the truck just got its battery module replaced?

Ok, so looks like it was a pin alignment issue. After L2 charging for several hours he went back to try the CCS again and this time pushed in harder and moved the charge cable around while doing so and the pin latched and it started charging.

This is a common issue with new owners. You need to insert the CSS1 gun firmly and hold it square to the port until the lock engages. When you hear the lock engage, then you can let go of the gun.
