How to clean between the cab and bed?

Where do I find “truck floss” to get out all the cedar droppings and other crap that has accumulated in that gap between the cab and truck bed?! My regular hose on the “jet” setting doesn’t seem to cut it. Any tips?

Additionally, the “felt” (or whatever fuzzy fabric it is they’ve adhered in that gap) seems to have some moss or algae… curious as to what anyone might recommend to clean and curb that growth.

I haven't really thought about it but a pool noodle would prolly fit. Dunno what exactly you're dealing with but fishing line would floss it, guess you could blow it off the pack with a shop vac. Haven't done any of this myself, just speculating.

Must be a regional thing, I've never heard of doing that. Show truck I probably would but no one sees back there any way. I use auto washes and whatever sprays down during that is good enough for me.

Oh yeah, very regional, and doesn’t help that I have several large cedar trees around my driveway!

I don’t think fishing line would work, that’s too slick. Maybe some sisal / hemp rope to LITERALLY floss down there? lol

Yeah those green things tend to turn brown and fall off. Yikes I see your predicament.

Would a compressed air blow gun work. $10 at Home Depot.

I tried the leaf-blower and the exhaust from my shop-vac with the narrow nozzle, but the additional power from a compressor might be good… may also need a wand to reach down into the crevice! Thanks for the tip.

maybe use a wire snake to clean out the space? add a bottle brush? Yea pool noodle stuffed in there after its clean will slow down the needle collection. ( paint the noodle black with rhino lining)

While camping I’ve had the same experience. I have successfully used the flat duster on a stick designed for cleaning under the refrigerator. It can also be used sprayed with car wax/cleaner after the dirt is removed. Once I have used mule tape only because I had it in the bed for tie down rope. Mule tape is a flat rope used to put in conduit to measure for wire length and bring the pull rope through the pipe. It is often discarded by electrical contractors.

I have had this problem as well and would love to hear about solutions. in my case red pine needles and small pinecones fell back there. except in my case, the rubber sound deadening insulation (I assume) was peeling back off the back of the cab and these needles and crap fell back there in between the insulation and the cab. It looked like a magic carpet with the ends rolled up and the rest of it lying flat.

I complained about it a bunch to two different dealers. One dealer attempted a repair two or three times, I believe, before they decided to keep the truck, pull the bed and do whatever to fix it, hopefully for good. I'm pretty sure someone along the way tried to just glue the insulation down over the debris in prior repair attempts, which obviously failed and they had to do it again. They also got glue everywhere - on the back glass, across the back of the cab and down the side there in the gap, and even a few spots on the plastic bit running along the top of the bed. Suffice it to say, I was pissed.

They used to make giant Q-Tips for just such an issue?

A pressure washer with a low pressure nozzle might work.
Or ask your local car wash detailer, maybe they have a good idea?

Maybe rubber weather stripping to keep the stuff out in the first place, like what's used on around door openings or for truck caps?
