Hello all, My 2024 Flash uses Acoustic glass for the doors. The drivers door glass took a hit from what I assume was a small rock on the highway recently. The crack quickly spread down the entire glass panel. My local dealership has quoted me $470.00 for the glass and $270.00 to Install it. It is just me or is $745.00 a bit high for this. Does anyone have any experiences with having the door glass replaced? Does anyone have a specific Part number for the acoustic glass? Thanks

Of course the dealership is high. See what Safelite charges. I believe this is the part, ML3Z-1521411-B , which you can get for under $300, assuming it's available (appears to be iffy). Installing it involves removing the door panel, undoing the glass, etc.

At my old dealer we charged 1.5 hours labor to replace the glass, or the regulator. See what your locals charge per hour. Part cost seems about right from a dealer.

I recently had to replace the drivers side window on my 24 Flash due to an impact. Cost me $250.00 via my AAA insurance with the work done by Safelite. Took them about 15 minutes.

Called $tealer$hip for a reason! Check out your local independent garage or glass shop. They can get OE parts as well or comparable AF parts.

Not all dealers are alike, they are ALL independent shops, none being Ford owned. Some dealers like the one I worked for, would bend over backwards for customers in every way possible and competitive with market priced parts and labor.

The few bad ones out there give them all a bad name, blanket statements notwithstanding.

^This is absolutely the best way to go if possible.

Can't compare US prices to CA prices, in 2009 the rate of exchange was $1.00 USD = $1.14 CAD. Exchange rate is even higher now with $1.00 USD = $1.37 CAD.

That's just the exchange rate, add in the markup your useful idiot in charge creates.

Sure ya can, my point was that 17 years ago a driver's door glass was expensive and today it's even more expensive.
Right now for the f150, the glass alone is $400 usd from ford in the usa(I use a Detroit dealer for online parts) and $543cad from ford canada(one of my local dealers selected for online parts), which is a conversion rate of 1.35 which is pretty much spot on. Now, work in the labour and taxes, say 2 hrs for the job @ what $110-150, I have no idea what they charge on either side of the border. Want tint on that? A few more dollars.

What markup? Who's idiot?

I replaced a cracked front passenger door glass myself this Winter.

1. These door windows are double-pane glass, for better noise control. See the very top edges of the front door windows to confirm this on Your truck. This is why they are expensive. I used a Ford OEM window glass.

2. The replacement is pretty easy. Take off the inner door panel (six screws & bolts). Take the electric up / down window switch off the door panel and loosely reconnect it to the door harness by itself. Take out the old widow. Pull out the thick rubber weather seal around the sides and top of the door. Insert the new widow glass from the top until it's one bottom hole clicks into its holding detent in the door frame. Wrap the rubber back into the door windows frame. Test the up / down movement of the glass with the electric switch. Disconnect the electric window switch from the door harness and snap it into place back on the inner door panel. Remount the door inner panel. Altogether, 15 / 20 minutes max if You're slow and careful.

A helping hand is useful to together insert the glass into its place, guiding the glass down from both sides of the door until it clicks into place. That's it.

I think it's abhorrent to put a widow in your door. She's done nothing to you, why would you treat her so poorly. Pushing her buttons, laying rubber all around her, it's disgusting!

Wait, wut? He meant WINDOW, not WIDOW?

Ford F-150 Lightning Drivers door window cracked. Replacement cost and Part#? nevermind

In order to answer that, I would have to break forum rules on politics, I think you know exactly who and what.

Around here, body shop labor ~$150/hour so $225 labor + parts and your knocking on $700…+.
