I hope last 12 days have been productively spent chasing for the update!

Wonder what would Elon Musk say to Tesla engineers involved in the (hypothetical) downgrade and procrastinating with restoring such a useful feature for a few months already? Good boys...good girls...HR will contact you shortly! This is sad that I do not like Tesla.

It’s difficult to even put it in to words how disappointing Ford has been with how they handle the software side of their business. As you stated, 10 years ago this behavior would be non-existent at Tesla. 2026 and ford is still stuck in 2006.

The fact that this tiny little, yet highly annoying, bug still exists 7 months later is really sad. Especially being it used to work just fine.

I typically try to stay upbeat and optimistic, but there comes a time when one must be realistic with the facts laid before them.

And I'll add - honestly ruining the good experience I was having with Ford after being away for ~2 decades, it literally is the experience we are having just about every time we drive our trucks....

I hate saying this, but the number of people who buy F-150 Lightnings is so small that if an even smaller percentage of those buyers decided to not buy a Ford again, it really wouldn't matter much to them.

You are right, a small percentage of those buyers wouldn't equate to hardly anything in itself - but this isn't a vacuum; Don't think so small - people talk - garage beers - 10x rule - User experience speaks a lot these days, especially to half of the 'millennial attitude' type owners.

In the end, I don't think it makes much, if any difference posting these things on a forum – but we can band together, or against....

Voting with your wallet works. Most recently, the pricing for Microsoft Gamepass was reduced back down to previous levels after an almost 50% price hike in some regions. Mass cancellations, myself included, probably hit their bottom line and they figured it would be better to get something rather than nothing.

UPDATE: The fix for this was planned for SU 11 release but has been pushed out to SU 12 with no specific date, but SU 12 updates should start coming out around Q3/Q4 2026.

So, all that does is tell us not to expect anything until at least Q3/Q4, and if history is any indicator, it probably will be in 2027+.

Ford will not care much about our feedback (which seems to be a waste of time) until lower priced higher grade and quality (and without stupid glitches and regressions) Chinese EVs somehow flood US market, but it will be too late then.

Mine would stay on sport if they'd let it. My personal feeling about this is they should program it to stay on last user input. No default.

In the end it was the government that forced the reversion. If they allowed it then I'd blame Ford. This is one of those things that have been a topic for so long that i doubt anything will change unfortunately.

Having to tell the truck to stay in Sport mode is bad enough, but the fact that this bug means even when I select stay in Sport mode, it just goes back to Normal mode on its own a minute or two later is getting reeeeealy old. Give the fact that this effects the driving performance, and more importantly braking, and since Ford doesn't seem particularly motivated at this point to fix the problem, if we all started reporting this to the proper regulatory agency because of the un-commanded change to braking performance would that maybe help light a fire under them to get this fixed? @Ford Motor Company anything we can do to up the priority on this?
