I know i am super late to the party, but hoping someone can answer this:

If i am 90% impressed with my 2022XLT lane keeping (with ankle weight on steering wheel) including ACC, will comma 4 do anything special?

Does it take exits if i punch in a destination?

Yes, ACC, and has that feature where it sees speed signs and slows down or speeds up
The Comma will be safer than the ankle weight since it monitors the driver to make sure that you are paying attention and not asleep.

I also used the ankle weight before getting a Comma and the Comma is much better at steering and staying centered in the lane than the steering wheel weight.

The Comma is like hands-off Bluecruise with less nagging and can be used on any road.

The Comma also allows you to manually control speed with the gas pedal and it will still control the steering (MADS option). Can't do that with an ankle weight or Bluecruise.

The Comma WILL NOT follow a route, make sharp turns, or act like FSD. The best description is that it is very similar to hands-off Bluecruise without a subscription and that it can be used everywhere.

There are options on the Comma to stop at red lights and stop signs, but it is "alpha level" software and not reliable. I have tried it and it drives much better to use the Ford ACC with the Comma controlling the steering.

I made a quick YouTube video showing my Comma Four setup with some tips. It’s my first attempt so please forgive the production and editing. I learned a great deal from watching @branden and his Comma AI and other videos and just discovered a few other tips along the way. Hope it helps someone else

The number of people that freely admit using devices to subvert safety measures while their car is driving itself is too damned high.

Le sigh.

I experience that some times my speed settings on the dash runs wildly up or down. How do I turn off this feature? Do I have some auto adjust speed on?

The main issue was getting all the settings dialed in. I put all the settings in Chat GPT and asked what exactly the setting did and what worked best for my Lightning. That really helped to get it right. I did the 12 volt battery reset after the first getting a ton of faults which is normal. Afterwards, no more warnings.

Hey ya'll, wanted to drop in and bump the links for the coupler since I have been getting a lot of individual reach outs for them.

https://bluepilot.dev/lightning-coupler-order-page/

Make sure to check out the dock integration as well

I am about to pull the trigger on a Comma. Still trying to figure things out. When ordering a sliding dock there is an option for a FitCamX relocation bracket. It seems this does not cost extra? Does it change the sliding dock itself or is it an extra bracket that is thrown in? I don't have a FitCamX but was considering it and not sure what choosing that option actually does.

It is a free option. It is a bracket that screws to the rearview mirror where the FCX would screw to, and then has an arm to move the FCX over 5" towards the passenger side. The FCX is still invisible to the driver (hidden behind the rear-view mirror), but the comma can now be centered. Leaving the FCX at the base of the mirror means mounting the comma low, and having issues with driver monitor, or mounting it to the side and having issues with ping pong.

Did you turn on ICBM? It's a beta level feature to let the comma adjust the speed stepping by simulating the steering wheel button presses.

So, I got my Comma 4 a few months ago. Installed BluePilot, and I believe WD40. I was awesome. Kept it on almost all the time, even when driving local streets and I was doing the driving. Seemed like a good backup.

Then I got some error, it couldn't boot out of nowhere. So I reset it, and reinstalled bp-6 and activated WD40.

Now it is insanely annoying. Worse than Bluecruise. Annoying beeps all the time. Turning off due to inattention all the time. Telling me to hold the wheel all the time (even when I am actively driving). It is trash.

What's going on? Where is the "driving attention" model located? Was it some SunnyPilot or bp-6.0 thing that changed?

Whatever happened, it has gone from a great system to something so annoying I barely want to use it. I'd like to get it back to how it was a couple months ago, when it was awesome.

Help appreciated.
Comma updated the driver monitor software to specifically watch for phones. If you have a phone in your hand, or on a dash mount where it can see the phone, it will trigger the warning and countdown. Several people have had to remount their phones because it was in the comma field of view and it thought they were playing with it.

Is there a way to revert versions or something so it goes back to being useful?
