Can anyone tell me why the percentage charge does not match the miles range. I have a 2024 XLT with extended range. battery (320mi) . The readout never show the correct percentage which is irritating because the chargers always reduce output after 80%. If you look at the picture below, 95% if 320 is not 253. It should read either 304 mi or 79% depending on which is wrong.

Of all the numbers there, the % state of charge is the most accurate. The 320 rated range and the 253 guess-O-meter estimated range are both known to be quite inaccurate.

You could achieve 320 mi if you drive in warm weather on city streets/back roads only. You will not get that at real world highway speeds or in colder weather.

The GOM estimate is based on recent past driving conditions. It is impossible to predict the future - wind, temperature, elevation, and most importantly speed, greatly affect your efficiency. None of those things can be accurately predicted by the truck. So the estimated range is highly likely to vary, a lot.

Why are you charging over 80% at a fast charger?

Try doing a PULL DOWN 'refresh' of the FordApp, see if the value updates.
BTW, how inefficient were you driving last run?

FYI, they did not make 2024 XLTs with an extended range battery, not even fleet. Beginning in 2024, XLTs were standard range only with 98 kWh battery. The Flash and above are extended range. Note that 22-23 XLTs did have an ER option.

To confirm which battery you have, see this post for 2024-2025 and the one following it for 2022-2023. The post will also tell how you to decode model year.

The SR battery has an EPA range of 230 miles, but the truck and app display estimated range based on factors like driving history, etc. Same as ICE vehicles and every other EV. Could be higher or lower than EPA.

That's interesting because it says in the paperwork XLT, but it could be a flash. When I drove it off the lot it said 319 mi for the range available. However, I was not able to find the window sticker online to verify the package.
How can I find what package it originally sold as?

Fwiw, the "range" provided is not something to rely on. Its more accurate below 90% or so, but its still just an (un)educated guess. At 100% Ford does some funny stuff with the numbers and they are completely unreliable, it does keep customers from complaining to the dealership though.

With your truck that 253 miles of range should be somewhat close provided you drive the same as you had been.

If you want more info look up "GOM" here as we refer to it as the guess o meter

First start with characters 5-7 (”series”)

W1B=Pro
W3L=XLT & Flash (the Flash is coded as the old XLT 312A package)
W5L=Lariat
W7L=Platinum

Then to distinguish XLT from Flash look at character 8 (“engine”)
"K" - Standard Range, 98 kWh battery, 48A charger (Pro and XLT).
"7" - Extended Range, 131 kWh battery, 48A charger (Flash, Lariat, Plat)
"U" - Extended Range, 123 kWh battery, 48A charger (‘25 job 2 Flash and fleet ER Pro)
"M" - Extended Range, 131 kWh battery, 80A charger (fleet Pro and fleet Flash)

And for giggles you con confirm year model with character 10:
N 2022
P 2023
R 2024
S 2025
T 2026

Keep in mind 320 miles requires >2.4mi/kWh. Had you been driving at highway/internet speeds recently? That 253 miles would be about 2mi/kWh which would be about right at 65-70. Normally it overshoots significantly so I'd be impressed if it were actually reading close. Have you towed a smallish load recently?

Wow, two different people on the same day posting that they don't know what trim level they bought (other here). It is literally stamped on your charge port door.
