The one they gave me doesnt look like that. In fact, mine looks like it would shatter if i dropped it. The case halves look thin, not sealed, and can easily be pried open with a screwdriver. I must have gotten the cheap version.

Yep, I just got that email as well. Despite me ordering it two days ago when they actually became available. The notify me isn't very timely (unless they specifically held that back to allow people on forums like this to order them first before opening up to the masses and running out of stock again?)

I think what he meant was, like me, we didn't know about the promo code. As soon as we saw the announcement we placed order. Then hours later friendly people posted the promo code. We were an hour or so too soon. The code wasn't in the announcement.

Maybe I am wrong, but it was my understanding that current Lightning purchasers were also supposed to get one from Ford. Is that not the case. I bought my Lighting on 24 February and my dealer said I would get one, but they were WAY behind. Was he wrong?

Complimentary adapters were available to all Ford EV customers who reserved an adapter between February 29, 2024 and September 30, 2024. All ~140,000 of those have been mailed out in the US. Unfortunately, your dealer was misinformed, or maybe got it confused with the Ford Power Promise complimentary home charger offer. In your case, you'd need to buy your own, but you could use the FordPass Rewards points from your purchase to offset some of the cost, as others here have.

Thanks for the reply. I bought the A2Z Typhoon Pro adapter the day after I bought the truck, so I'm good on a NACS adapter - in fact I expect to be using it in about an hour...

As for the home charger, when I asked my dealer how to order that, he said I order it through the FordPass app, but could not find it. So I tent a text to the Ford support 800 number 8 days ago and have received nothing despite several repeat requests.

Since they promised it, I would go back to them and hold them to it, and have them source a free NACS adapter for you through their parts dept.
As for the home charger, for us that was something the dealer initiated, and we got an email survey we had to fill out to order it. So you'll have to take that up with your dealer.

We got our Lightning December 2024 and it was too late to get a free one. I believe what the dealer told you was wrong. Would have had to request it before September of 2024. On the flip side, when they ended the free adapter they gave us all the choice of either free level 2 installation of I think $2k discount on the purchase price. So actually we got a better deal.

On a semi-related note, ordered the adapter on the 11th with an expected ship date of the 14th, and got a FedEx alert last night that a package from Dearborn will be delivered Monday. So they do indeed have stock, and shipping on schedule as promised.

FWIW: we had three trucks eligible have received Two adaptors - 1st one ordered minutes after email arrived six months ago - March 2nd adaptor showed up last month - the third adaptor ordered March 9th - no news on it yet so >12 months wait. (In Canada)

Having a ‘24 ask your dealer or order it online - kind of a personal preference A2Z vs Ford branded.
