I hope they can follow through with some BC expansion alongside this. I don't feel a strong need for more automation, but a little more BC coverage is the one thing I want from Ford now.

Am I in an alternate universe?
One minute it feels like Ford is moving backwards in the next minute it feels like they’re moving two steps ahead.
Am I in the matrix?
Was I just returned from an alien abduction?
WTF is going on😂🤣😂

Farley’s entire time at Ford makes it seem like he has no idea what he's doing. Farley seems to want to be in charge of a technology company that builds vehicles but won’t commit to the investments needed to make Ford a technology company that builds vehicles. So, he’s rudderless and making mistake after mistake. First he asserted Ford shouldn’t make affordable vehicles (“commodity,” he called them). Then he decided Ford needed to make affordable EVs because Ford is a decade behind BYD. Then he decided to cancel the BEV pickup so he could write off $22B and let the taxpayers pay Ford’s taxes. Now he thinks he’ll have Level 3 self-driving in a couple of years? Nonsense.

He'll change his mind again in a couple years when the administration changes if they haven't kicked him to the curb by then. He's like a fish out of water.

I understand the reason to have doubts, but what they are doing kind of makes sense they want to make a profit. They learned a ton by creating the Mach E, Lightning and transit. I think Farley realized that moving forward they better have a better strategy to compete with the Chinese which he has said in the past, and that is why he created the skunk works team!
I think it was the right move to keep everything under wraps until they had gotten to the point where they were confident they would be competitive in this space. Hopefully they will get back to making an F series size vehicle, but it seems like that is not where the market is going the volume sales are in things the size of the model Y, model 3, etc. Tesla had to sell a bunch of their cyber trucks to SpaceX to get rid of the inventory they had and in addition if I remember correctly, they had way more reservations for the cyber truck than Ford had for the lightning. That market is just not ready yet because of many factors. Those of us that took the plunge know how great of a truck it is, but it does have limits towing for what that’s worth.
Canceling it wasn’t the right move for those of us that know how great the truck is, but hopefully they will come out with something. That’s even better in the future.🤞🏼
Yeah, I know I’m a glass half full kind of person😂🤣😂

The new vehicle will have a more integrated control system than the Lightning or Mach-e. Updates to current vehicles are likely to be less comprehensive than the new vehicle platform.

Agree. I felt like they just copied and pasted a 2020 press release of the upcoming f150 lightning and just changed the date to 2028. WTF is ford doing. you just wrote of $20b to turn around and offer eyes off on an EV I. 2028?

This will launch right after the native NACS port and Google OS to replace SYNC, obviously.

I wish them luck, but I'll be watching from my FSD Tesla.

We will see how this news ages in 2030. They might have a shot at it when they replace Farley, not likely until then.

BC and similar systems scare the @#$@ out of me. I made my career in the computer industry and despite all the advances over the past 40 years I still see way to many unpredictable computer errors. Humans have their flaws, of course, but even a super computer can't predict every situation that could ever present itself.
