12V battery charge

Reset F-150 12v BMS
1. Press start button, but do not start the truck (foot not on brake pedal)
2. Flash high beams 5 times and then press the brake pedal 3 times.
3. Wait for the battery indicator on the dash to flash; it can take a few seconds.

4. After the indicator flashes turn the truck off.

I found when I was having BMS problems a couple years ago that it didn’t always save the new settings if you didn’t turn off after the procedure.

I just got my 12V replaced under warranty today, 3 weeks before my 36 months was up. Back in 2023 I ended up with a bricked truck after one OTA due to 12V problems so my battery went through some things. The new BMS solved the problem but the damage was done.

Rockauto for a replacement.

Is the battery really only $100? Why even try charging? A charger will cost you that if you don't have one. seems more practical to just replace the battery. I think I'm having issues with mine. I'm getting the weird cluster beep and tone sounds and I was told its a symptom of low 12v. But I've otherwise never had any issues with my 12v. I just don't drive much anymore.

Yes, that Rockauto price is correct plus shipping and tax. Mine was $125 including both when i bought mine several months ago. You can technically mail back your core, but I believe you have to pay shipping. I just held onto mine. I think you can take it to OReilly's for a $10 gift card.

So the temperature is certainly not it. I'd just carry one of those little jump boxes and press on.
