*UPDATE: "Powertrain Malfunction - Power Reduced" fault was resolved by replacing the shifter assembly. It was not a problem with the actual powertrain.
Ford should do what Tesla used to do and use a momentary shifter. Then all commanded positions appear on the display instead of showing them on a legacy physical indicator, thus eliminating the need for an actual self-moving kerchunky shifter for autonomous features. Ford's engineering culture is "lets electrify the way we always did things" and Tesla's is "let's engineer from first principles". A self-moving phsical shifter that isn't even connected to a transmission is an absurd engineering decision. */UPDATE*
I had three occurances of a "Powertrain Malfunction - Power Reduced" fault with "Service Vehicle Soon" wrench indicator show on the dash. After a few hours, it goes away as if nothing happened. Started two weeks ago. So I decided to schedule service and get a list of items taken care of:
No loaners so back to driving the Tesla. If it's in the shop over a week I'll reach out to Fords electric team and see if they can do something.
This is my first truck and I love the versatility of the Lightning. I don't know how I made it all these years driving little cars. But now that I've experienced all that it can do (I really put it to work), I'm going to miss it while it's in for service.
Initially I just liked it because it was comfortable big tall vehicle with a quiet interior and smooth suspension- but I was disappointed with the software as it is its biggest weakness. But each new thing I'm discovering I can do with it makes me like this truck even more.

- Powertrain Malfunction - Power Reduced (3x). P0929, GSM (gear lock selenoid actuator).
- Wobble in rear end, goes away immediately when sport mode is activated. My understanding is F-150 uses CCD (continuously controlled daming), so my guess is there's a rear wheel imbalanced and sport mode is somehow tuning out the wobble when it switches the CCD mode of the rear suspension? Otherwise, it's powertrain related.
- Film from factory left behind the steering wheel cover not completely removed at delivery. I'm having them remove it since it will require popping off the airbag cover.
- Momentary switch on the drivers window occasionally doesn't go up.
- Tire rotation, it's that time. Normally do these with the season change since I use snow tires but didn't get them for the truck yet.
