I want to love this truck so much. In the short time that I have actually had it in my possession, versus being in the shop, I have actually very much enjoyed it. I don’t think my problem is indicative of reliability issues, I think I just got a bad apple. The first issue was seemingly solved by replacing the drivers aside axle assembly and the wheel bearing/hub. This fixed the vibration/noise for 1 week. Then it was back to the shop for the same symptoms. Dealer is going to replace the wheel bearing assembly again, but said they don’t know what causing the bearings to fail. My limited knowledge of bearings makes me think there is something out of plumb and the alignment of the axle through the hub is off. I’m guessing this will be a recurring issue through the life of the truck. I’m nearing the buy back window and I’m hoping Ford will end this sooner rather than later. Just venting. Thanks.

Sounds like it could be a manufacturing issue if two assemblies both had the issue, a bad run on the assembly line that produced defective parts. If the third one has the same issue, Ford better look into that possibility.

Hopefully not a design issue like I experienced with Dodge/Chrysler transmissions in the 1980's and 1990's - had to change the automatic transmission fluid every 15k miles or else, dang it!

Well I had to replace the wheel hub on my 2024 Lariat on the driver side last week. Thankfully not the axle assembly, though I'm going to be weary going into the future.

Update: As I sort of expected, the second wheel bearing/hub assembly has failed. Same symptoms. This will be the third time to the shop for the same issue in less than 4,000 miles since new. This is beyond frustrating. Other than these issues, I love the truck, but I simply won’t be able to recommend this vehicle to anyone any longer based on the extreme frustration and inconvenience it has caused me.

You've got other issues if your truck is eating bearings like that. It's possible your garage is damaging them on install or its the wrong part. The odds of that many bearings being bad out of the box are almost nil.

Yup. That was my original thought too. Something is out of plumb and causing premature wear.

Does lemon conditions apply to this situation, multiple failures & repairs on same issue?

Very frustrating. Although it might not seem like it, this could be an EV specific repair (due to how the drive axle connects directly from the EV motor) and you could reach out to the Ford BEV team for assistance. I can’t seem to find the contact info but I’m sure someone on here has it.

Update 5/30….truck back to shop this AM. I just received a call with the new diagnosis. Front drive unit has failed. It will be replaced. The part is 5 days out. I have submitted a buyback request as I believe I have met the threshold of my state’s laws ….we shall see. I actually just want a replacement. I love the truck and I know that sometimes you just get a bad apple. Hopefully @Ford Motor Company can make this right..

A bit of a bump as I'm curious to see what happened with your buyback. I replaced the wheel hub assembly for a second time, third one since getting the truck. The last time I took it in, I asked them to look at if there is another issue that could be causing the problem. The blank stare told me everything, though they did try to blame the previous tech installing it incorrectly.

Well the last week or so, about 1000 miles since it was replaced, I hear the squealing as backing up with the wheel turned. Which tells me I'll be replacing the wheel assembly, or something else, in the near future. My state says 4 times in the shop for the same qualifies for a lemon, which is something I do not want to do because I enjoy the truck.

Hi, I competed my buyback in June. It was a very simple and fair process. New truck has been flawless for 5K miles.
I wish their was resolution to understanding what lead to the failures. Wrong p/n being used, bad batch of parts, out of plumb, bad axle, bad motor…

Did the dealership share anything with you on outcome?

This wasn’t the type of dealer that cared that I was curious about the process. In the end, I just dropped it off and walked away. I also wanted to know what the root cause was. My guess is it was actually the service department that caused the prolonged issue but I’ll never know unfortunately.
