each time I get the ford survey for early access update feedback, I include language asking for more detailed information on the update. I would think each of us is doing the same thing. Have to think we might have an impact.

I can’t wait for when the details go into over correct mode and become over the top:

“Corrected spelling on seatbelt warning system due to John Smith’s fat fingers.”

It would be so cool if one of these updates said “We’ve fixed the issue of your screen and backup camera freezing and not turning on at all 3-4 times a week”…

I just don’t understand how they haven’t addressed this after years in production! It’s the only thing that really pisses me off about this truck

You might want to take your truck in. I don't think this is normal.

Any idea of what they could do? I get these issues on the regular too. I always chalked it up to that I am so behind on updates that one of the newer ones will address it.

I would have them looking into a whole new central unit, I think it's called "APIM". The trouble would be getting them to witness the issue and diagnose it properly to get it covered by warranty. I don't know what version of software you're on. But I was on 4.? since I bought in November, and have had about weekly updates lately so I'm on 6.2 now, only ever had a freeze or blip once or twice in these few months.

Thanks. I'll have the dealer look at it at the 10k service. It has had random freezing and resets since I purchased in October. Only on 4.2.3.1 at the moment. 99 percent of the time things are working fine so it would be hard to recreate. Also it should be noted my use case is probably not typical. I start and stop my truck sometimes a dozen times a day depending on how many job sites I have to go to.

The blank screen for the cameras while you've just started up and are trying to back out of your parking space is the APIM (Sync) unit freezing and having to reboot before showing you anything.

Happens on my '23 quite often, especially when it's warm outside. Has only happened maybe twice on the Lightning, but never happened on my '21 model MME even though other '21 owners did report this happening to them.

This is an issue that's been around for years and the end result is getting a replacement APIM installed. Take a video with your phone...or multiple videos, to show your service advisor. See if that helps.

I’ve been updated a few revisions- but I recall reading somewhere that the 6.8 had been put on hold until something got worked out?

currently sitting on 6.4, I would just like to see the battery percentages of what I have left

Same. Honestly the soc on the screen without calm mode is all I want right now.
