Anyone tried this brand yet? I just bought one but haven’t plugged it in yet out of fear.

Reviews from verified buyers look positive. First I've heard of that one.

Lectron and TeslaTap offer variants of this adapter that can handle up to 80A.

I keep the 80A TeslaTap one in the truck. I bought the 48A one to use with our Tesla charger at home, but have tried both and they work great. The truck can request 80A all it wants, but there’s a negotiation. A proper adapter won’t allow a handshake that agrees on more amperage than the adapter can handle. My scenario hasn’t presented that situation.. yet. But I know that both the TeslaTap and Lectron adapters handle this.

…I have no comments or experience with this AKSESROYAL adapter, so who knows if it’s any good. Looks just like my Lectron though.

I've got one, and it works great on destination or mobile Tesla chargers. Cheap and cheerful, it's never seemed to be an issue for me.

I'm curious if the new "free" Ford supplied SC adapters will work with destination charging since they seem to be missing the AC pins.

They won't work on destination chargers. You said it yourself. There are no AC pins.

The adapters have no way to communicate with either side. The most they can do is have a thermistor that will disconnect the pilot signal if it gets too hot.

I would never use a fake amazon brand for anything with 40-80 amps pumping through it. Mainly because I do not want my truck and house burning to the ground. These products have literally ZERO quality control. They are mass produced by basically slave labor with as little material as possible, no QC, no certifications or ratings, no testing, and no assurances, and sold by fake brands en-mass on Amazon. Ramming 40-80 amps of high voltage through that kind of thing is a very very bad idea.

Stick with the real products by real manufacturers.
