Since I’ve had the Lightning (little over a week now) I’ve only charged the truck to 100 percent once but noticed the range was about 270 or so and not the advertised 319 for the extended range battery. Last night I charged to 90 percent and got 249 miles of range that was indicated in the screen. These figures don’t seem right to me. Am I missing something? At 80 percent it’s been just over 200 miles so it feels like something’s not right.
with only a week's worth of data to work with your range accuracy will be low. The Lightning learns as you drive. Predictive accuracy will improve if you put a destination into the Lightnings GPS mapping.

I have a heavy foot and always run 5-10 mph over on interstates.
Around town, I mentally calculate 2.5 miles per % (2.5/1.3= almost 2 mi/kwh)
On the highway, I figure 2 miles per % (2/1.3= around 1.5mi/kwh)
Those numbers are conservative and never leave me stranded, but are reasonable for hilly terrain like western PA.
The GOM is there for decoration.

Copy that. Thanks.

The outside temperature play the biggest role in estimated miles, in my opinion; however, there are also other factors. The colder the temperature, the lower the estimated range.

It’s gonna take me awhile to figure out what I’m doing.

We took the truck for a short 200 mile run and the destination went off without incident. However when we headed back home I did a charge to top it off (80 percent) and we hadn’t gone more than 21 miles and I noticed it had dropped 20 percent and I was getting an amber colored warning light letting me know we wouldn’t have enough juice to make it to the next stop. I started to panic a bit because we were heading thru the desert between Calif and AZ and it was 114 degrees. I stopped the truck and decided to take the interstate instead causing a bit of a backtrack. Not sure what caused the range dump so fast but it freaked me a bit.

The more you drive it, the better idea what it really will do. Pretty much all new EV drivers have some degree of range anxiety. That will subside with experience. I've now had my Lightning for a little over 3 months and put about 5700 miles on it so far including a 603 mile day trip mostly in the SoCal desert, and 9 days later a 412 mile day trip to Pismo Beach. The desert trip I detail planned ahead was conservative about charging. The only wrinkle was Electrify America took their station at Fenner down for an upgrade two days before I made my trip. That resulted in a detour (productive for the purpose of the trip) into Needles to charge, and because of high winds coming back on I-40 a top off in Barstow. With Fenner EA down (it's back up now), it really is a desert along I-40. The Pismo trip was far less concern since we charged just before getting to Pismo where there was a convenient In-N-Out in the same parking lot, and once we started back, if we had needed a charge, there are rapid chargers every few miles once we were into Santa Barbara. I did not need the charge, but arrived home at 18%.

I was in the same area. I-40 and we charged in Needles as well coming back from Laughlin. Headed back the way we came (from the 95) and that’s when I noticed the charge warning. Turned around and headed back to I-40 and headed toward Barstow. Added an extra hour to the trip but I didn’t know what else to do.

I thought awhile back, talking years ago, Ford updated the GOM to always show about 320 ER or 230 SR at 100% regardless of driving history because people complain about it. Then you would drive 5 miles and lose 30 on the GOM

I’ve never seen that on my truck.
