Is this mostly temperature dependent ... ?
I am trying to determine if - when I precondition - house power is consumed outside of my preferred charging times?

If I want to charge between 10AM and 6PM but set a departure time of 10:10 AM (allowing 10 min for preconditioning) will the truck start preconditioning earlier than my preferred charging time? The HVB was charged at preferred times over night ...

My experience with both the Lightning and the Mach-e is that preconditioning begins about 30 minutes before the scheduled departure - regardless of the temperature.

It is temperature dependent as to when the battery warming phase starts, I've seen it start was early as an hour prior to departure time setting. If your battery SOC is at 100% it will inhibit the warming phase, so I no longer charge past 95% on a morning where I ~NEED~ to use departure timer to optimized battery performance, most of the time I don't bother for a short mile day.

My most recent use was yesterday, here is the recap of what I shared on another thread, total time for process was 52 minutes.

I used departure timer to prepare for a drive to the airport, my actual leave time was 3:45, I set the departure timer to 3:35, it kicked off the battery warming phase at 2:53, timed out at 3:45 as intended.

I used 8 kWh of energy to get battery and cabin warm.
