I forgot to take a photo of the dash. I drove home from the Oregon coast yesterday just over 100 miles on rolling 55 mph state roads and arrived home with mileage of 2.9 mi/kwh. Yes, I did the speed limit. Temps were in the mid 70's. GOM said I would have 19% SOC on arriving home and I arrived with 31%.

Still so amazed at this truck!

Spent some time on the beach, which in Oregon we can drive and park on. And for for first time the wife and kids were brave enough to get behind the wheel (on wide open and uncrowded sandy beaches).

Very cool! Something I want to try one day. It would be amazing to hang out on the beach, have a cookout on the beach with the Lightning powering stuff.

Did you have to air down the tires? If so how much did you air down to?

I did not air down the tires, but did have some worry I would get stuck. Only reason I did not was I forgot to pack my inflator. That, and there were a bunch of Subaru/CRV/Toyota CUVs on the beach. I figured if they can do it so will I.

I would be interested to see what people can safely air down to with the stock 20" Lariat wheels/tires

Did you run it in “off-road” mode?

Did you stay on dry sand or on "moist" sand? Did you wash off the underside after wards?
Please keep us posted on the condition of the underside over time (rust, bearings.)
I've noticed my m/k has also been going up a little on highway trips and particularly on local road trips. Yesterday I towed a harbor Freight (1750) trailer with a couple 10 Ft X 10-12 inch diameter logs on back roads (40-50 mph) and got 2.1 or more m/k. (28 miles over hill and dale.)

The dash display estimated range was 106 when I started and 164 when I got home. So I can safely state that towing with a lightning charges your battery and increases range. :cwl:

The App on the other other hand is showing 190 miles of range at 80% charge when I normally have 246 miles. It's also telling me it charged 25.3 Kw and gained 50 miles. :lying:

So much fun watching the numbers when you are not stressed by necessity. Note, Adaptive Cruise control is not good at towing. Kept surging (or pulsing?) going up 2-3 degree hills.

I bet the regen braking on those rolling hills plus the lower wind resistance really helped a lot.

That's really cool, thanks for sharing! I haven't had efficiency that high on our trips but the speeds on the highway averaged around 70. I did see about 2.7 on one "longer" (only about 15 miles) drive where it was super early in the morning and I averaged about 50 MPH and only hit one or two stop lights. I imagine that 50-55 is the sweet spot for the F-150 profile.

Low pressure "shower" of the undercarriage. Although with all the bugs I picked up on the drive it could use a proper wash.

I drove to Des Moines yesterday. 52 miles each way. Temps in the 70s, no wind and Iowa flat. 65 MPH there on cruise, got 1.9 kWh. On way back hit 2.0 kWh.

Hey, neighbor. Yes, it's awesome getting to the coast and back on a single charge. Even better if you charge at home, have TOU billing, or solar. We calculated that with TOU, a trip to the coast is less than ten bucks, where with my Hemi or Cummins trucks, we'd have spent $70-100. Glad you like the truck, see you out on the road!
Cheers

PS- Are you a car audio guy? I used to know a Bryce that did installs 20ish years ago and can't tell from the pic if you're him lol
