I installed my TUWC in July of 2024. I live in Glendale AZ. From my understanding is the Universal Adapter works via magnet when you push down on the button to release with the NACS. Whenever the weather is above 90F the adapter won't release and I have to use a 3rd party adapter I bought via Amazon. Anything below 90f it releases no problem. I have the hard wired version and looking to see if this is common before I have to rip it off my wall.

I recall seeing several reports of the adapter not releasing but didn't pay attention to whether temperature was mentioned. I just installed on a month or so ago so haven't tested it above about 75F.

Yeah mines been fine for the most part since Nov but we hit 90 once last week and sure enough it got stuck like it does all summer for me.

It doesn’t solve the mystery or problem, but I would recommend just leaving the cable draped over the top of the box when it is hot instead of docking it. Unless you need to switch back and forth between NACS and CCS.

I didn’t have any issues with mine last summer, but it rarely gets that hot in Northern Illinois.

We had some high 80 - low 90 temp days here last summer but never had a problem. My UWC is out of direct sunlight so that might have helped.
