Truck lost modem connectivity again (4th time) and instead of disconnecting LVB, I thought I'd try pulling BCM fuse 32. I pulled and it while putting it back in, I accidentally dropped it of course could not find. No problem, I will just go to the store and get one, right?. Turns out, without this fuse installed, whole thing is locked up. No Sync, Remote does not work, Can't start the truck (Start button doesn't even respond), Display is Frozen etc. Manually released the Frunk and disconnected LVB and reconnected, hoping it would reboot. No dice. I don't understand why disconnecting communication module would render the truck inoperable! I panicked for a bit since I was blocking my other vehicle. But looking it the manual, I realized that there is a spare in 25. Carefully pulled it and replaced 32 and everything is back.
Just a warning for anyone trying to do the fuse thing.
Of course OTA update to fix the connectivity would be nice.

Yeah I always make sure my truck is not blocking the garage or other vehicle when I mess with the battery or fuse. Saw a cautionary warning previously. Good to know about the extra fuse

Yeah, a couple people keep saying to pull that fuse to fix connectivity...I wouldn't.

Aside from the issue you spoke of, a couple others on Facebook have been blowing Fuse 32 trying to go that shortcut instead of just disconnecting the Negative terminal.

Oh man. Same thing happened to me. Fuse just slipped out my pliers right down into that opening below the fuse box, never to be seen again. I didn’t know about the spare but luckily the dealer is like 10 min away, and fuses are about $1 ea, either per or 10 to a bag. Whelp - I have a bag of 9 left in the glove box.

I pulled 32 (yes, I dropped it into the abyss) because I couldn’t get hands-free BC to engage. Hands-free has worked ever since. Maybe it’s a coincidence. ??‍♂

Hahah, exact same thing happened to me. Only after replacing the fuse with a spare did I discover the 12V battery was completely dead.

Seems bad if everyone is pulling fuses and disconnecting batteries on a brand new truck, but maybe that's just me.

True, but we’re early adopters. You do what it takes…..I prefer pulling a fuse to making an appointment for service.

And I’m not sure it’s “everyone.” Problems tend to get amplified on forums.

I hear you, and you are right - plenty of people not on here complaining, I get that. But it does make me wonder what the software methodology is at Ford. I wonder if they have an employee Beta program so they can get rapid feedback on new builds.

This really sucks.
just lost my fuse 32 20 amp one and the flippin spare 27? 20amp one way into no man’s land. This every 1-2 days Ford modem reset really disappoints and sucks Ford. You owe me a heated steering wheel at least ugh!!! 40mins and a super bad sore back later I retrieved both fuses many hand scratches later. Modem reset and FordPass working for moment. This really sucks guys and gals. Ugh ?

This whole situation sucks. Dealerships are clueless. Two hours at dealership and no solution. Still on 4.11 and modem freezes up every 1-2 days after fuse 32 reset…

I’m fortunate to have a competent dealer. And I live in a part of the country where diesel pickups outnumber EVs by an order of magnitude.

Stop messing with the fuses. Just pull the negative wire.

My truck is currently in the shop getting the TSB taken care of. Hopefully this fixes the connectivity issue.

Best of luck that this is behind us soon enough. Feel free to share your TSB outcome when you get her back. As per the fuse 32, it’s better for me vs emptying all my work gear every two days from the frunk area.., that is unless I drop the fuse again inside the firewall area, then that bites.
