Hi everyone, I need some help with my 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning.

I’m having an issue with the blend door actuator (driver side). On the driver side it only blows cold air, while the passenger side works fine and blows heat. I scanned the truck with a diagnostic tool and it shows “blend door failed”.

Can anyone please:

Share a diagram / exact location of the driver-side blend door actuator so I can remove it and order the correct replacement?

Thank you in advance! 🙏

Good luck with this, my Fiesta ST continually had blend door issues until I traded her for the Lightning. Every 8-9 months 'it' would go out, and it was always a different one that wasn't covered by the replacements warranty.

I had to replace one(twice I think) in my 2016 expedition driver side. As I recall, it is a bitch to get up in there to the screws or whatever it was might’ve been hex or torq but it’s not a difficult job other than that.

Almost every car ever produced has a near impossible to reach blend system that requires dismantling the entire dash and if it's an internal defect you have to replace the entire mixing assembly costing hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

Here's to hoping the lightning isn't like that.

THAT does not look like a fun job, sorry to say. Lots of luck, hopefully it is a loose connection .

Thank you very much for the help.
The blend door actuator for the driver’s side was actually located on the passenger side, down by the footwell. It was very easy to access—no interior trim or plastics needed to be removed; it was directly visible.

With the diagram, it was very easy to locate. I only had to remove it and lubricate it with WD-40, which freed it up, and now it’s working perfectly.

Thank you all for the help. Honestly, this forum feels like a family—so many good people who don’t hesitate to help others.
Thanks again to everyone!

This thread had me worried. If I could sum my HVAC experience with ALL the Fords I have owned in 3 words, it would be “blend door failure.”
I feel ya!
My dad had a 2014-ish Ford edge and I would have to go in and do some blend door reset procedure that I found on YouTube when it first got cold outside because it would not blow hot and would not blow towards your feet it was pretty easy but should not have been something that you should have to do every year when the weather changed. It was a few years into his ownership when this started and once you did that reset procedure it worked fine for the rest of the year until the next. Ghost in the machine, I guess.

Was it the C2091 driver temperature door actuator in the drawing?

Yes, IIRC the blend door on my 96 XLT Ranger is a MF to deal with...
