After having driven my Lightning for a few months, and seeing some of the new EVs that are coming out (e.g, the Kia EV9), I'm not sure I could ever buy a gas-powered car again.

Agree. Our second vehicle is a Highlander Hybrid and I'm itching to sell it and go full electric. Unfortunately in Montana an EV will need to get real life 200+ mile range in -10 degree weather going 75+ mph before I can make the switch.

I drove a 2023 Lariat ER from Fargo ND to Spokane Wa last winter in below zero temps and and a good share of the trip was through Montana. It is doable but you have to plan your trip. If you charge at home then it is a non issue unless you drive over 200 miles each day.

Yep - had the Lightning 6 months and made such an impression that replaced the Lexus with a MME. Fully electric now.

What do people with Battery Module replacement think? Did you consider going back to ICE at the time of trouble? How about after some time passed?

As of now, with no real reliability issues, I am sold on EVs and can't see myself going back to ICE. I am not sure what I would be thinking if I was one of the folks that had to replace modules twice even under warranty.

I was one of the first with a battery module replacement on my 22. My truck showed no signs of problems. Ford was proactive in calling me and arranging the repairs. I know others were not so lucky but I have put another 20k on the truck since the module replacement with no issues. Plenty of DCFC in that 20k also.

We are fully electric with a Mustang and Lightning and would consider a third EV for around-town and battery backup even though we've only ever been a 3-car household when our child was driving themselves (they're now out on their own).
I'm even eagerly awaiting a chance to replace my diesel tractor with an electric tractor. The costs for that are still very high, but they're coming down quickly.

If EV had been mass produced sooner, we might not be in the mess we are now carbon pollution/climate wise. After getting a 2012 Nissan Leaf in Dec 2011, I never wanted to drive anything but an EV. It did not have much range, 70-100 miles depending on driving style road conditions etc., but it was great for local driving.

Never had an issue with it. Never needed an oil change, tune up, or emissions inspection.

Virginia did hit me with a tax when registering the vehicle each year, for not driving an ICE and thus not paying the gas tax that funds roads, of about $100 per year.

At the time, I was expecting/hoping that the move to EVs would grow fast, but it took a while longer than I had anticipated.

Better late than never.

So much misinformation about EV's in the press and the Internet that some of my relatives think the Lightning is going to catch on fire and kill me, is going to drive my electric bill through the roof, and other such non-sense.

Alternate facts out there being spread to benefit the oil industry no doubt and get their ad revenue in exchange. Follow the money.

Even stories like Bloomberg's with positive news are given negative sounding headlines "Slowdown in U.S. Electric Vehicle Sales...", knowing that some people don't bother reading past the headline.

But like other posters, I see more and more EV's on the road. In 2011, it was me and one or two other Leaf drivers and an occasional Tesla.

The air would be so much cleaner, the roads so much quieter, without ICE vehicles.

Some day.

nice to see a positive article on EV's, but none of the so called "analysts" saw the slowdown in Q1

Definitely doable...but we take several trips from Billings to Missoula every winter. About once every other year we end up sitting/traveling below 10 mph for 30mins to an hour due to a semi going off the road. Have also been diverted around certain passes and thus had 50+ miles added to the trip. Won't risk it with a family and such a small margin for error.

I'm with you. I was alone driving the truck after buying it in Fargo ND. We have a 2018 F150 3.0 diesel we take on trips.
