Has anyone noticed that their charging indicator light no longer turns blue to show progress? Or, maybe this is only with certain chargers. The picture below is shown charging with the portable charger with 240v.

or, it may also be that this indicator light only stays on for a few minutes... doesn't mean it's not charging, but the light is an 'owner' indicator.
I wonder if pressing it will reactivate it.

Mine still works the same. Blue when charging, flashing the percent quarter that it's current charging in.

On my Mach-E, it is used to stop a DCFC session. Then the CCS connector can be removed by pressing the latch on the connector. When I first got the car, I couldn’t unplug my L2 cable unless I pressed this button first, but that apparently got changed by an update.

Isn't there a setting to turn it off? Maybe you toggled it.
@blpublic

Yes, it is buried in the “Vehicle Access” screen of the vehicle’s settings ….not the most intuitive location to put it, and the location of this toggle is not explicitly identified in the Owner’s Manual …..just a general reference to “Vehicle Settings“…just not where in those settings……

It appears to be the same with the Lightning…the Owners Manual instructions for disconnecting from a “Charge Station” and a DC Charger differ in the instructions for disconnecting from a DC charger explicitly state to first “push the coupler unlock button”.

They put so much effort into the charging port light, it's a shame you don't get more details inside the cabin while it's charging. It's not the only EV like this.

Agreed! We can't tell what is limiting charging or even the charge rate. Many people can't see or even know how to see the rate on the charge station itself. We have had a really bad experience with slow charging in Missouri along I-170. The Electrify America in Boonvill rated at 350KW only charges at about 64kW consistently. There are no other 150kW+ chargers between St. Lous and Kansas City. When you tow, we need 150kW charging to make it reasonable and slow/broken charging is killing us. I'll post more in the trip section.

Thank you! A classic case of RTFM - sorry. I didn't know my dad had accidentally changed this.

I still think the charging ring on the Fusion/C-Max Energi was the peak in charging indicator light design. I also liked the door swiveled out (similar to how Rivian is doing it).

No worries….I stumbled across the location of this setting when rooting around the UI on my 2nd day. Had I just read the manual, I would have still had to root around because Ford didn’t make it clear in the manual were this setting is located! “Vehicle Access”….the Frunk is shown at the top of the screen and the rest of the controls are related to charging. 🤔
