Hi! Whenever I depress the brake pedal, it feels like braking through a thin sheet of ice before the pedal operates normally. I have tried to get used to it after the dealer told me it was normal, but brought it back again only to learn that this sensation stems from the regenerative brake function. It is very noticeable even with the truck off. Our Tesla does not do this. So I wonder if anyone had this experience? I have yet to drive another Lightning to compare...
Thanks for your input.

I have the same truck, same mileage, and the brake pedal has always seemed smooth and the feedback pressure normally proportional. No "breaking through a thin sheet of ice " feeling.

Thanks! That's what I expected. Should I just try another service center? I bought the truck used and it is far from the original dealer...

If you can find any near you maybe go test drive one!

2023 Lariat, since new, and I have not noticed this. If I pay close attention, I can tell when it transitions to physical brakes by the feel of the truck but I can't tell on the pedal. I'm pretty tuned in after 3+ years.

The brake feel on my truck, which has 30k miles, is the same as it ever was. It has always been a bit clunky to me. I don't like it as the ABS is too sensitive It not the same as the tesla. I do like the tesla version better. Both are different from the Audi S5 I still have. I regard the audi as the standard. None of the EV's or hybrid vehicles I have owned feel the same as an ICE .

Your taking the truck to the dealer, correct? They must have used or new lightenings on the lot. Ask to drive one of them.

I've driven two 2022 Lariats and my 2024 Platinum all with 1-pedal driving and my experience with the brake pedal has always been smooth with no interruption along the travel path.

Thanks for the feedback! I know it isn't right, but I cannot bring it to my dealer who stated twice that the brake is "normal". On second thought, I did actually drive a 2022 Lightning before I bought the 2023 (which I did not test drive) and do not remember the "crunchy" brake pedal feel. I guess I will bring it to another dealer for diagnosis as long as the truck is still under warranty. I was hoping someone knew of an easy fix ;-) Thanks!!

Do you notice the cruchy travel in 2-pedal drive? Just curious if it is the pedal travel vs. the functional transition from regen to physical brakes.

On second thought,
You indicated you usually drive one-pedal, as do I. I use the brakes sparingly and worry about disk rust because of where I live, so I drag brakes using both pedals occasionally ... could rust be causing your issue?

Hmmm can't help you but to say that with 23k miles all with 1pd, I rarely ever touch the brake pedal!

I have never noticed anything odd about the brake pedal feel on my 24 Flash. I essentially always use 2 pedal mode. As someone else pointed out, I can tell when the friction brakes start taking hold as I stop (at around 3 mph) in the truck, but not the pedal. I will make a point of paying attention for anything when I go out in a little while.

Not likely the cause, but check your brake fluid.
With truck off for a while, hour or so check the brake feel with your hand, smoothly and slowly apply increasing pressure and listen. Do it several times about 5 times, note any changes.
With truck on repeat the process.
Note all changes.
The only change that should occur is the pedal travel depth should decrease slightly with each depress.
Since it's electric I've said to try both off and on, on an ICE typically you can do either as I'm unsure of the exact changes to braking.
If you hear or feel a slight grind, it's likely the pivot has dirt or sand in it, clean and lubricate.
If not or you just want to check, check for abnormalities in the brake switch. Kinda difficult to explain what you'd be looking for here but just inspect.
