If you are using firmware version 10.50.0, send them an email, the same thing happened to me on this version and the battery was not able to keep up. The company recently pushed out 10.50.4 and the battery issues went away.

I am not 100% sure that the battery issue was caused by the .0 firmware. At the time, we pulled all of the cables and reset them just to make sure everything was tight.
I’ll need to check this out. Mine died about 3 weeks ago and it’s too annoying for me to want to pull the whole thing out and charge it.

Can I just plug it into one of the USB c chargers in my car to charge it without taking the whole stupid thing out and apart?

We tried that, but a charge would never start, so we had to bring it back inside for a few hours.

Damn. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll bring the box inside.

Anyone hear any updates when this will end and the what it will look like ever beta?

I have firmware 10.50.4, so that's not it.

I drove over 3 hours Sunday. It's now Tuesday morning. I haven't driven since my return and I'm having to tear the box open again to bring the battery inside for a charge. There was only one activation during that time and I don't live stream my truck bed. This is a real pain.

I'm replacing the screws that hold the box closed with velcro.

If they can't fix the charging, I wouldn't recommend a Canopy unless someone drives their truck every single day.

Just curious, did you reseat the diagnostic port that powers the unit?

Do you mean the OBDII connector? I had tested it when I had issues with the initial installation last month but haven't reseated it since then. I can unplug it and plug it in again but the rest of the operation seems fine.

Check the USB-C power cable from the OBD II going into the box. The way they keyed the barrel terminals is idiotic and provides no positive confirmation of a connection. One of my complaints in their surveys, why they avoided using something proven like an M12 connector is beyond me.

Yes, the OBDII connector. The first time we had battery stability issues, we reseated this port and it took care of the problem.

All right, I manually charge my battery and plugged it back in and it’s got the latest update so we’ll see how it goes. I re-seated all of the plug terminals so if it dies again, I’m just gonna leave it dead until they ask for it back or they don’t, but it’s kind of a pain and not really worth it.

I recharged my battery, reset all the connections, and rebooted the system. We'll see if it makes a difference.
