Side note: Is it time for comma to have its own subforum? That long thread is getting REALLY hard to navigate/find something specific.

My truck seems to ping pong a lot with every model I've tried so far (WD40, North Dakota, Notre Dame, LCD) with the stock settings. Can someone explain the best way to help reduce this back and forth fun? Seems to be an issue on straight roads, don't notice it so much in curves. When this happens, the white line showing steering input alternates between 25%-50% right, then back the same amount left. It's making ME sick and I hardly ever get car sick. Didn't have this problem with the stock BlueCruise or lane keeping.

I'm reluctant to start making changes w/o some guidance. I don't want to make it worse.

My truck does have the Eibach suspension at full lift, if that matters.

I have a long road trip starting Friday, was hoping to use the comma, but at the moment, with this side to side fun, I'll be forced to revert to the stock BlueCruise for the few places were it actually works.

Thank you for any advice!

I had it happen with stock openpilot in a corolla before, but you may want to remount the comma and rerun the calibration. I don't get ping pong even on firehose, it does occasionally cut corners though.

There is a consolidated user manual of sorts in the works and almost finished that has step by step instructions for tuning.

Until then, there is information spread across the entire internet. Such is the nature of open source and experimental hardware/software. Try this link for now on the BluePilot website:
https://bluepilot.dev/2026/02/28/bluepilot-specific-parameters-and-tuning/

Anecdotally, my guess is that your lift definitely will have an impact trying to get things settled.

First read:

then read

keep in mind, with a lift you have raised the pivot point of the comma even higher above the road. That means as your truck rocks left to right with the bumps in the road, the comma is swinging left to right, and trying to compensate because it thinks your truck is off center.

probably increasing your PC Blend Low is the best path forwards. Turn off advanced lane positioning.

The reason to keep everything in one thread is so that I get a notification. I
subscribed to that giant thread. If b177y hadn’t tagged me, I would have never seen your request for help.

Advanced Lane Positioning was already off, but I went crazy on the PC Blend Low and set it to .9 from the default of .4, hoping the difference would be obvious. It was. Just took it for a drive and it was FAR, FAR better. Steering inputs were much more reasonable. I‘ll try tweaking that a bit to see if I can fine tune it, but if I can’t get it any better than it was just now, it’ll be fine.

THANK YOU ALL for your responses!

If we had a comma specific section, you could “Watch” that whole section and see any new posts.. So this too would be solvable w/o a single giant thread…or am I missing something?

this is something that happened to me with stock suspension. I was playing around with the advanced controls on sunny pilot, etc. I started having all kinds of issues. I unchecked everything and still had problems. I hit the reset back to stock button and everything went back to normal,"It now works", operation. If you didn't go down that road and havent changed anything from stock settings,, I`m guessing its the raised height that is the issue. Ajride and a few others may be able to help.
