Console to column shift swap mod?

We are in business (not exactly, if you ask my wife)

Her first response is that it looks like a downgrade. She cheered up when she realized the umbrella could sit on the floor between the seats. Wait till she can put her bag there!

We’re still without the associated steering column shroud, trim pieces for the dash console, the center seat rear cup holder unit, and definitely going to add the flip out floor cupholder.

Id also like to swap out the cupholder plastic in the flip down seatback for a version with 3 or 4 cupholders. The shallow rectangular recess isn’t useful. I haven’t seen such a thing but will be looking (update - I see from @kdkool post #56 that seatbelt stuff is going on inside seatback at the location of that recession so this plan is probably out)

Very nice. One of the other cars that I drive regularly has a column shifter. I have now swiped at air trying to shit into drive on the lightning and activated the windshield wipers on the Volvo xc40. Column shifter just makes sense, is always out of the way and works great.

Switch from reverse to drive. On my Volvo EX90 the gear selector is on the right side of the steering wheel (opposite the turn signal stalk). Drive is down, reverse is up (the stalk returns to the neutral position after actuation).

What did you do for the seat belt for the middle seat?

i believe seatbelt and buckle receptacle are integral to seat. In the case of my donor I believe it has been cut so will be sourcing that. No one sitting up there for now
