I received this email yesterday and a follow up phone call today from the same person who sent the email.

Our dedicated team will assist with scheduling your vehicle for service and any related questions.

You can reach our Electric Vehicle Team at 1-800-392-3673.

Available Monday-Friday 7AM-10PM CST, 7AM-7PM Saturday

We have identified that your vehicle is equipped with parts that are not performing as intended, which could result in a degradation of the performance of your high-voltage battery. Ford is offering to replace these parts free of charge and will use the parts from your vehicle to further evaluate how they function in the field. We would like to proactively schedule a service visit for you at a Ford dealership – please call the number listed above.

Why are you receiving this notice? Ford Motor Company is voluntarily conducting a program to proactively replace parts from certain customer owned vehicles.

What will Ford and your dealer do? For the purposes of this program, Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to replace certain high-voltage battery module(s) from your vehicle with new parts free of charge. The replacement parts will help prevent performance degradation of your high-voltage battery.

How long will it take? The time needed to exchange these parts is one-full day. However, due to service scheduling requirements, your dealer may need your vehicle for a longer period of time.

Do you need a rental vehicle? Your dealer can provide a rental vehicle for your personal transportation at no charge (except for fuel, insurance, and tax) while your vehicle is at the dealership for repairs. Please discuss with your dealer for guidelines and limitations.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter

She wants to schedule me a service visit at my dealership to replace parts related to the battery. She told me due to parts availability, the appointment would probably be a month or so out because she wants the parts at the dealership before I take it in for service. I told her sure, go ahead and schedule it. I assume its related to the other bad battery modules people are replacing. At this point I have 16,374 trouble free miles on my truck. I have recieved all OTA updates available. Truck is a May 22 build week.

Pretty outrageous that they are doing this for Lightnings and there are thousands of Mach-Es with potentially bad HVBJB that have to wait for them to fail.

Yeah Ford contacted me the same way, same build month. Did they say whether you can still drive and charge normally? If so, I’d take it into service have them write up the ticket, order the parts and then reschedule you when the parts have arrived. One month in a beat up loaner is trash….

She never mentioned about not driving the truck or that it was unsafe to drive. My plan is to call the dealership on Monday to see if they have heard anything from corporate. I plan on driving the truck as normal until all parts are in unless they tell me otherwise.

F-series trucks are Fords bread and butter. Makes sense they would take priority IMO

Have you hooked up a OBDII dongle and checked the HVB SOH%? Does it still say 100%?

I have not. What OBDII dongle and app work with IOS?
I have an android phone as my primary device, but just checked on my iPhone and this app is available on iOS too. It's called Car Scanner and I use this OBDII dongle: https://amzn.to/3HTv6Wm
