FCSP Overheating

Where did you see a spec sheet that says it can go to 60C? I tried searching but could only find a max temp mentioned in the installation guide:
" d) The maximum rated ambient temperature of this device is 113°F (45°C) "

I apologize….60C is maximum ambient for storage, not in use.

And then we have this spec sheet that says 140C!

Mine has been doing this for months now. I notified Ford and Siemens, and I was told it was operating as expected, even though my FordPass is getting blow up with error messages.

Similar occurrences on my end. Was told to derate the unit to 64 amps to solve the problem and they were working on a software fix. I did that as instructed and as the spring and summer heated up I started getting the overheating notices again. Which I told them about and received zero response.

I dropped it down to 64 as well and didn't notice a difference.

I was having many issues. It finally stopped working. I opened it up and found that one of the hot wires just slipped right out. The other seemed loose. I think my continued to overheat until the wires got loose and it no longer worked.

It seems like the lugnut is seized up and i can't retighten it. I have contacted ford but it seems they may not replace it. They are saying installation error due to not torqued to spec on the lugs.

So I would turn the power off and check that the lugnuts are up to spec for anyone having overheating issues.

I feel like a better design around the lugs could reduce this issue.

After having to RMA my first FCSP due to it faulting as soon as it would be plugged in to charge, my new one shows an error in my FordPass that it is overheating while charging during the night. Is anyone else see this? I am in AZ where it reached 120 yesterday. I charge in a closed garage. Is it just too damn hot to charge?

I am at a hell of your altitude than Phoenix, which is Willcox. My neighbor/handyman/friend put my charger in a aluminum and steel box. I learned that my charger was needing to be reset and looking at the manual I saw that the operating temperature is no higher than 113 maybe 115°, if I remember right so I opened up the door to my bird house is what I call it and it seems to help I just purchased a couple of fans different styles and will install one in the aluminum door alleviate the problem. I would say the your temperature would be a problem you might take a pedestal fan and blow on it and or charge at night. Good luck
