I use several of these, battery monitor Bluetooth only. I think they have some with wifi but the cost climbs.

Okay remember when I said I felt bad for the guy, that's no longer true. Now the dealership is saying oh we can see the codes but if they're not active right now there's nothing we can do!?!!

Is that seriously true?

Is there a Ford rep on this forum that can chime in cuz I'm well and truly done with Ford in general and this dealership specifically!!!!

The techs have to follow a flow chart with specific tests to perform and there are certain criteria that has to be met in order for the test results to be accurate so yes it's very possible.

It's also very possible they don't have a skilled tech on staff to perform these tests.

Try a different dealer, none of them are owned by Ford, they are all independent businesses, franchises.

Chiming in - I was doing some background work to understand what's going on. Looks like the dealer is actively working on it, and engineering are on standby to support as needed.

Thank you. Should I take truck from this dealer and move to another? I stopped using this dealer because they're not very confident in electric vehicles. The only reason I brought it here was that it was literally a hundred yards from where the truck died as opposed to the place I'd prefer.

Admitting my ignorance, what part failure would you say the codes point towards?

A weak 12v battery will shed loads (truck components and communications too) and lead to multiple errors, based on what I have seen reported here and on other social media.

Getting rid of the truck may be premature if it just needs a new 12v battery...and a battery maintainer with an AGM mode connected to your 12v battery whenever you are not using it so this doesn't happen again any time soon.

I would love @Ford Motor Company to acknowledge the post from @Adventureboy Keeping the charger active after shutdown. This doesn’t seem like a tough thing to change and could keep a lot of people from being stranded.

Over the years I have picked up a lot of information from car trouble.

So maybe it's like they say, you learn more for your failures than your successes...unless you're a car company, then you just keep repeating the same ones over and over and...

I have your VIN. These are the codes that caused the errors. They are reported as stored codes today, but for sure they are in your DTC history.

Unrelated to what happened yesterday, you have a misconfiguration in your HCM. Not sure if you made some FORScan change that is causing this, but again, this is not related to what occurred yesterday.

But what a pain to have to hook up your truck frequently, JUST to keep the 12v alive and well.
Put a sticky on the dash: "Remember to plug in maintainer"

On this note . . what is the consensus for a good OBDII reader/scanner.
A couple of years back I bought one, was supposed to be good one (So I thought), paid like $125 for it, I could not even read the vin# from my vehicle, I had to type it in every time...It was NOT user friendly

Depends on what you want to do. I'm using a cheap $15 one I bought 15 years ago. It's slow, but I managed to fix my 360 camera view using FORScan with it. Sounds like the app you used was the culprit, not the reader. I've used TorquePro and CarScanner with mine, both connect without issues and read PIDS. CarScanner had more codes auto-populated, I had to create a profile in Torque (which reminds me that I need to update that profile).
