If its being delayed to shoehorn an EREV option, please don’t put the engine in the frunk. Scout Terra has it figured out!

I think “figured it out” is a strong statement.

I think we all saw the same demonstration vehicles from a different influencer on the internet. The only similarity is - the trucks don’t move. It’s a stationary brick with an extension cord attached to it.

There’s a lot of engineering that will go into this existing vw enginre, even the most rudimentary elements of the engine like cooling and serviceability. Don’t even get me started on the complexity of the bench seat airbag and seat belt configuration for safety tests :).

That said, it looks really cool. I want them to succeed.

It really wouldn't make sense for Ford to have a Gen-2 Lightning and the "T3" electric truck that will be the same size. They would steal sales away from each other and they are already facing an issue of potential low volume. Sure, some buyers may prefer one over the other, but I doubt Ford will spend the money to develop, produce, and market both.

It may be that Ford is spending some resources developing a Gen-2 Lighting just to keep the possibility open as a contingency plan in case they axe the T3 or the market shifts drastically.
T3 has always been planned as a smaller truck.

With the right engine, it won’t matter where they put it.

I’m thinking the upper glovebox.

Multiple. Some were public statements by Ford but the most reliable source has to stay anonymous.
I remember seeing comments about them focusing on the Aero but nothing on making it "smaller" per say. Im sure it will lighter, but the functional space I imagine will be the same or larger.

I recall Ford already makes a PHEV Ranger - for markets in S.Africa/NZ/Australia - no word on a full electric Ranger that I know of, but it would be interesting to see them since these are pretty common mid-sized trucks around here, along with the Tacomas.

Are you sure you aren't confusing the T3 with the Skunkworks low-cost platform and it's mid-size truck?

Here is a 2024 Ford public statement on both trucks and it doesn't mention the T3 being smaller. Same with the original 2023 T3 press release. I read both of these as the T3 is the next-gen EV truck directly replacing the full-size Lightning. It may be smaller for aero or better layout (more cab-forward) but I expect it still to be full sized interior and cargo.

GM has the Hummer, Sierra, and Silverado..you can argue they’re different nameplates, but sense it does have not make it.

T3 is also the internal project name. They very well could be one and the same..
Except Farley explicitly stated TTT is not a next gen Lightning and that they had no plans for that. Makes me think they’re referring to ttt.

This is correct.
